Default Formula E - First race this weekend

Anyone going to watch? It'll be on Fox Sport 1 at 12:30am PDT for a Beijing street circuit around the 2008 Olympic Park.

I think it looks pretty interesting, and there are some big names that might make for decent racing.

The driver lineup is like a list of F1 never-beens, plus Sato.

I probably shoudl have said "interesting" racing instead of "decent" then

Well, I just set my dvr. It might actually be some good racing with all the cars identical (they're effectively spec cars this season, aren't they?)... like a spec miata race with F1 drivers in open wheel cars on a street course.

24 slow, boring laps, and one crazy ass finish. There might be hope for the series, but they need to figure out how to double the power of these cars. Instead of power saving mode for the race with a car change halfway through, they need to do like 4 battery swap pit stops or something and give them full power for the whole race.

The 'fan boost' is a little dumb (top three vote getters get an extra 5 seconds of power upgrade -- about 40hp). And yeah, the racing was boring except for the last lap.

For anyone that wants to skip the first 24 laps. Final corner, battle for first. Nicolas Prost vs. Nick Heidfeld.

(Heidfeld is okay, btw).

What a shit-show...I can't stand Alain Prost, and little Prost isn't much better. Yeah the cars are a bit slow to watch, hoping they can improve on some of the oddity of these cars

seems like a lame move by the outside driver.
