And I just broke into the 51s too damn it.

cody 2006-02-02 11:19 PM

I have the track, let me see if I have that car. BRB

sperry 2006-02-02 11:22 PM

I was in the 51's yesterday.. I think a 49 might be possible.

However, I'm thinking the touring car would be a better challenge... it's less hectic.

BTW: you *can't* play GT4 w/o a card in there.

sperry 2006-02-02 11:24 PM

Wait, I got it to load... just had to wait for the demo to cycle... go figure. The DTM car is *not* in the default arcade cars. :( I bet I can find something close though, unless Cody's got it unlocked.

bemani 2006-02-02 11:25 PM

Really? I can. I did that when I picked the civic.

cody 2006-02-02 11:26 PM

No dice. It's cool, I'm having fun earning my 1B license. I've passed 5 tests with a silver so far. Carry on.

sperry 2006-02-02 11:27 PM

Okay, I got one... the Opel Astra '00 Touring Car.... it's from the same year and series as the CLK, so I got to imagine it's damn close to the same... plus, it's a default car available to all.

bemani 2006-02-02 11:29 PM

Alrighty, its 11:30 too, just move the deadline by 2 days and we're all set.

cody 2006-02-02 11:31 PM

All in favor say "Aye". *doesn't wait, changes deadline*

sperry 2006-02-02 11:32 PM

 Okay, the challenge is officially with the Opel Astra Touring Car '00.

And the new rule is that anyone that can't access a track or car should try to gain access by playing the game, or can complain within 48 hours of the start of the challenge to have the challenge modified.

cody 2006-02-02 11:35 PM

Pshh, you gotta wait till it's your turn to make rules Mr. Dictator. :P

First post updated.

sperry 2006-02-02 11:48 PM

I'm in the low 1'02's... this car's about 10 seconds slower than the Nissan group C car.

Woah! Don't change the deadline! The challenges should always end Tuesdays at 11:30! I don't want to get on a Thursday schedule for this... meet's are Thursday nights, and lots of people go out after the meet... no fair making them skip out on the challenge or the meet.

Sorry. Bemani made me do it. Should I change it back to Tuesday?

I'm in the 1'06's too. :D

Yeah, I'd like the schedule to be consistant so I can plan around it... Monday and Tuesday nights are usually boring, this gives me something to do.

cody 2006-02-03 12:12 AM

Well let's just make sure the moon and the stars revolve around Sperry. :P

I'll change it back, but you guys really ought to make up your mind. :P

What's the confusion? The challenge starts at 11:30pm Tues. You have 48 hours to file a complaint if you can't participate. That in no way changes the end of the challenge... it just means less time to run. :(

I'd suggest that people make an effort to notify as early as possible if they can't race so they don't piss off others, and if the car/track needs to be changed, it should be as close to the intent of the challenge as possible.

cody 2006-02-03 12:20 AM

No confusion at all. Nobody better get pissed at me though, I said I was perfectly happy earning my B1 license.

bemani 2006-02-03 12:51 AM

JonnydaJibba 2006-02-03 08:05 AM

People are planning their lives around this challenge!? Wow. You'd think there would be prizes involved.

cody 2006-02-03 08:27 AM

It's all for the Glory! :P

Double Phister 2006-02-03 09:00 AM

Are future challenges going to be limited to the out-of-the-box list of tracks and cars or do we just pick whatever and wait to see who is left out?

cody 2006-02-03 09:07 AM

We could put that question to a poll to make a new permanent rule, or we can just leave things the way they are and people like me just have to get their game on if we don't have access yet. I don't really like the idea of making a challenge only to change it mid-challenge. I think we should avoid that.

JonnydaJibba 2006-02-03 09:14 AM

Maybe have two levels of challenges? I dunno how many people are far enough into the game though to be able to obtain certain cars. Like a challenge for Arcade and GT? For GT challenge, get X car and mod it to within 10 HP of Y amount of HP. Example: Infinity G35, mod it to 350 hp + or - 10 and 2500lbs + or - 200? I dunno, just a crazy thought.

cody 2006-02-03 09:20 AM

I don't like the idea of two challenges, but if sombody starts another thread with another challenge, I couldn't stop them.

If you dictate a challenge, you can definately make challenge specific rules like X car modded with X amount of money. We don't have to always use arcade mode as far as I'm concerned.

However, I'm starting to think we should just make a permanent rule that all challenges have to be available to those with little or no completion percentages. Basically take your memory card and boot up to see if the track and car is available. Money shouldn't be a concern as long as you don't make a challenge where you can use over $100K. Thoughts?
