I don't want a hard limit on the cars/tracks either. We probably are doing the best the way it is now.

slightly off topic.
What cars have people been successful with for the GT challenge event at the end of the Professional Series?

So you vote no limit at all on what car/track can be assigned? What if it's a car that only the rule maker has access to? That's not fair.

JonnydaJibba 2006-02-03 11:28 AM

Is that the one with the P1 cars?

I vote no limit as well.

If you want to be a retard and pick a car no one has so you "win", you're an asshole. The whole point of this is to have fun, right? If you pick something everyone doesn't have, you should change your pick, but I don't want to force the challenger to pick from the base cars only.

And to beat the GT Championship, I purchased the 4 black painted race cars available on day 664. Ended up using the R92CP. I tried with like 10 other cars before that... I had cars that were fast enough to keep up, but simply didn't handle well enough to compete. That stupid series dropped my win ratio under 90%!

JonnydaJibba 2006-02-03 12:03 PM

I vote for whatever everybody else wants. Which is good if everyone agrees! :D

I think I used the R8 w/stage 1 turbo. I only used stage 1 to keep my car from becoming too fast so there could still be competition.

cody 2006-02-03 01:28 PM

Alright, so regarding whether we should make a rule to limit what cars can be selected, we have:

No Rule
R4ND0M_AX3
Sperry

48 hour warning
Cody

Only base cars
Cody
Bemani?
Jonnny

has no spine
Jonny

blows goats
Jonny

Corrections/additions?

sperry 2006-02-03 01:31 PM

Put me down in the "why is this such a big deal anyway, let's just deal with issues as they come up" column.

cody 2006-02-03 01:33 PM

I'm going to put you down in the, "I always have to make things difficult by pretending to be a non-conformist" section. :P

No, I don't really care much, that's fine if I'm the only one that thinks we need a rule.

JonnydaJibba 2006-02-03 01:33 PM

Isn't that we are doing right now? I'd say this is an issue and is being dealt with. I think we should just stick with racing cars everybody has. Oh and your mom has no spine! Ouch.

cody 2006-02-03 01:35 PM

I know you aint talkin to me that way boy.

JonnydaJibba 2006-02-03 01:39 PM

Your mom shit when she had you and picked up the wrong piece of excrement and named it Jonny.

JonnydaJibba 2006-02-03 01:45 PM

Cute. So then we are just using the base 200 w/o memory card? Simplify things much that does.

cody 2006-02-03 01:47 PM

I'm willing to compromise and do the 48 hour rule.

Double Phister 2006-02-03 04:16 PM

OK, Lets go with cars and tracks that at least 85% of the participants have access too.

You figure out how we know what that is though. :)

If the challenge was for a car I didn't have then that gives me a "week off" to get some work done on the GT side.

cody 2006-02-03 04:28 PM

Yah, I'm ok with not being able to participate, so I can progress in GT mode. My real intention of keeping it so everyone can play is so sombody is more likely to dethroan Sperry. :P

bemani 2006-02-03 04:54 PM

I don't think that's possible.

One of you fuckers will eventually beat me. Probably you Alan... I doubt you've ever run a lap and thought "that's it, I can't possibly go faster", right? All you need to do is drive more laps and your times will come down.

The only reason I keep winning is because I don't quit driving until I've got the lowest time, it usually takes me in the 100's of laps. The last two challenges it took me until about 11pm to get it too... one of these days you'll set the bar high enough that I'll run out of time.

Hell, MattR beat me in his automatic wagon once at autocross... anything can happen!

I work, eat, sleep, and play GT4 these days. I've got no social life.

...I'm not joking, I'm pathetic. But when you get home from work at 10pm 6 or 7 days a week, there isn't much time to do anything social. My social life is posting on this board and going to SECCS or SCCA meetings. :(

cody 2006-02-03 05:45 PM

Yah, choosing a life that revolves around technology and modding your car never seems to impress the chicks either. :|

Yeah, those F1 drivers never get any chicks.

cody 2006-02-03 07:18 PM

You're comparing yourself to an F1 Driver. :|

No, you said that people involved in technology and modded cars don't get chicks. F1 drivers are the epitome of people involved in high technology and modded cars.

My point was that my social life isn't lacking due to the computers and cars. It's more due to a lack of time IMO.
