That's one expensive engine block. I hope it was for a prototype, cause that's wasting a lot of material.

But is it possible to build a forged aluminum block any other way? The only way to save material is to cast it, but then it's not a single forged billet.

...'course there's nothing stopping them from sweeping up the 9 lbs of shavings and recycling them into the next engine block.
