I haven't even looked in this thread in months, but that statement right there made it totally worth it today.

1Up - E3 Live Demo of Fallout 3
http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/20175

they explain that the junk you load into the gun causes damage based on weight, so the teddy bear could have only done like 1hp dmg or something but the character that Todd is playing with has Bloody Mess, so the 1hp death results in a critical death animation. :)

The bits where they ask Todd about whether you can become a mutant like how in TES you can become a vampire, and he says that they considered it but decided it made it too much like TES with the "magical" or "superpowery" feel-- BUT that they are thinking of doing it for future games. (The thought of a Fallout 4 makes my knees shake)

Just as long as they get the next Elder Scrolls out the door first. I've done just about everything there is to do in Oblivion, and I'm gettin fidgety

JonnydaJibba 2008-07-24 10:39 AM

Oblivion oschmidion.

Detritus 2008-07-24 11:09 PM

Is anyone still playing TF2?
http://steamcommunity.com/id/hermittower

Does anyone play Civilization 4 with the Beyond the Sword Expansion? Its been my gaming obsession lately.

Really looking forward to DOW2, D3, Demigod, Darkfall...and a few others.

100_Percent_Juice 2008-07-25 07:12 AM

TF2 is one of my favorite games. However, I do not have it for PC.

JonnydaJibba 2008-07-25 07:38 AM

I have it on my 360. It certainly looks neat.

100_Percent_Juice 2008-07-25 09:33 AM

^Do you play your orange box at all?

JonnydaJibba 2008-07-25 09:52 AM

Yeah sometimes. I've finished EP 1 and am on the very last part of EP 2 but I keep dying. I'm playing through HL2 as well. I've already played through it but not on the 360. Finished Portal as well. TF2 is ok but I can't play it for very long. Too fast paced for me and I can't stand those fucking turrets.

Once you play Fallout 3 I'm guessing you will forget all about Oblivion. ;)

I won't be that interested to play another Elder Scrolls again if it is in Cyrodiil again (boooring). I would prefer that the next Elder Scrolls game picks another part of Tamriel to visit, or several spots (or revisit Morrowind).

Turrets - go spy and disrupt them. :)

100_Percent_Juice 2008-07-25 12:46 PM

Just an FYI. At walmart there is a little clearance looking rack by electronics and they are selling a 12 month xbox live gold pack with headset and camera + 200ms points for $40. It's a pretty good deal so I picked one up.

How much does that usually run?

100_Percent_Juice 2008-07-25 12:53 PM

$79. A 12 month card alone is $50 at gamestop.

JonnydaJibba 2008-07-25 12:56 PM

Dang that is a good deal. It's $50 for just a year membership.

Detritus 2008-07-25 02:05 PM

Most of the seccs gamers do it on consoles then?

I think its a mix. I'm PC, PS3 and Wii based.

Still can't play FPSs on consoles.

I can't stand playing fps's on the consoles.

I've got PC, Wii, PS3, 360 available...I use my pc the most and the wii second most.

JonnydaJibba 2008-07-25 02:26 PM

I cry when I play FPS's on PC's cuz it's sooooooo much easier. But I do fine on consoles.

Todd Howard said that they plan on visiting a new location with each installment. They've done the Iliac Bay (Hammerfell and High Rock coastlines), Summerset, and Morrowind, so I'm hoping for Skyrim or a Valenwood/Elsweyr combo next time.

I would like Elsweyr, but the others don't really interest me much. The Black Marsh would be pretty cool too.

I use my Wii, 360, PC, PS2, and N64 pretty much the same amount... not very often. :(

Kunikos 2008-08-06 11:20 AM

I'm thinking about replaying Baldur's Gate 2. That game was super fun. Also, if I get into the beta for Good Old Games I may try out Jagged Alliance 2.

Yeah, I've played through all the levels like 5 times on my breaks this past week. I'm going through them now trying to do it with as few parts as possible.

Level 1, 0 parts
Level 2, 2 parts
Level 3, 2 parts
Level 4, 5 parts
Level 5, 6 parts
Level 6, 5 parts
Level 7, 4 parts
Level 8, 3 parts

Dean 2008-08-12 12:23 PM

I am having to work at level 15: "Down Under"... The earlier similar level :around teh bend wasn't bad, I am going to need a different approach for this one. "Four balls" was fun. I tried a couple approaches until I hit upon the simple solution.

May have to go back and try Scott's minimalist approach.

Here's how I did it the 1st time around... but I'm having a bitch of a time "minimalizing" it.

Level 6, 5 parts

I got that one down to 2 parts. Yours had me cracking up though.

That is pimp!

Dean 2008-08-12 12:50 PM

Here is level 2 with only one part sort of... I swear it goes in the goal, but doesn't register. :(

http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=383146

Thanks Scott, but I am not looking at other's solutions until I am successful at all levels.

That way works... if you zoom way in and nudge the block and stick out a little more:

Four Ball is fun. I just did this at the same time as my friend and we came up with completely different results.

I did it his way the 1st time, then tried a bunch of time to do it your way and never got the timing right.

Here's my minimal version, 11 parts:

Dean 2008-08-12 03:00 PM

Level 17 "handling" 5 Pieces. I could do it in 4 by dumping the front wheel, but it will take forever to find the perfect length for the front "fork" in drag mode.

I think I must have played with Legos more that you Dean... or at least I ran out of pieces more often than you did. :P
