My ticket just arrived!!! Where would we be without ebay? (apart from not having scalpers buying up all the tickets to sell on ebay I mean)
|
Well, we finally bought some tickets - to the Davis show, instead of the Reno show. We just couldn't make the Reno date work. :( But on the upside, I finally get to see NIN live!

You guys should come up to Reno on Saturday. It's only a couple of hours away. |

In other news, tickets for my roommate Matt and I arrived in the mail yesterday. |

It that case maybe its better if Austin and Laura don't come up. |
I know, I know, it sucks we couldn't make Reno. Laura couldn't get the day off though, so we were SOL. I would have been in a world of hurt if I had said, "screw you, hippie!" and took off by myself to go to a NIN show without her. On the plus side, Kate & Scott are going to the Davis show too, so we've got somebody to hang out with up there. 8)

Dude... is that from "As the Rush Comes?" |

...anyway, that song rules, although it's a bit overplayed in my rotation these days. |
So, what about your Goat pants?
|
I like the sweeping strings chill mix.

j/k... in fact I might already have that version, since I've got like 15 different remixes of that song. |
Man I'm starting to get amped up for this... we leave tonight to head up to Sac town.
We should have a TR emoticon... like [img:d8c476e21a=100]http://www.sickamongthepure.com/files/2004/01/NINPart3/Trent038v2.jpg[/img:d8c476e21a] |

ALL YOU FUCKING PIGS..... MARCH!!!!!
The concert fucking rocked! Only two gripes: the opening act should have been lynched.... and there was no encore, just a single 90 minute set! :( Set list, as best as I can remember it... I'm sure I forgot one or two songs, and messed up the order somewhere... (* = song off the new album)... Love is Not Enough* March of the Pigs / All the Pigs All Lined Up Piggy Reptile some new song* The Line Begins To Blur* Terrible Lie Closer Burn Wish Suck Starfuckers Inc. Hurt The Hand That Feeds* Head Like a Hole The bassist fucked up Starfuckers Inc. He came in a half a measure too late during one of the break-downs, so when Trent started singing, the bass line was wrong. Trent started laughing at the bassist and told the crowd "it's only the second show"... It worked out okay since the crowd just sang the lyrics the whole time and Trent picked it back up... "DONT YOU! DONT YOU! DONT YOU!" About halfway through the show I went down to the floor and tried to get into the shit, but it was actually pretty calm... at least as far in as I got. I'm sure it was more hectic at the rail. Anyway... I had a fun time. I'll probably go to one of the bigger shows in the Fall. I guess Trent was worried that no one was into NIN since the last tour/album was 5 years ago... so he only wanted to play small venues. But since just about every seat for every show between now and August is already sold out, worldwide... I guess they're adding a second tour in the Fall at some larger venues, so hopfully I can make one of those and hear some more stuff off The Fragile, since that's the tour I missed. |
Sounds like it was a great show. Kick Ass.
|
Holy crap, the Davis show was intense. Freeborn Hall is fucking tiny, it's like the size of my junior high auditorium. Did the Reno show have the whiny angry rocker chick soloing with a guitar as the opening act? I think somebody in the band must be screwing her or something, cause she was awful.
Anyway, we had the same kind of format, no encore, but I think we had a few different songs than what you listed for the thursday show. There were at least 3 or 4 songs off The Fragile. IT FUCKING ROCKED. I'm really glad I finally got to go to one of these shows. We started out the show right down front by the rail, almost close enough to reach out and touch the band members. We were really having to kick some ass to stay on our feet up there, throwing elbows, knees, it was fucking nuts.. people were going crazy. It was such a crush up there that about halfway through the show Laura started having trouble breathing and was close to passing out so I had to grab her around the waist with one arm, and elbow, shove and kick my way backwards, carrying her out towards the back. Once we got about halfway back on the floor there wasn't a crush anymore, people were just standing normally, and she was able to recover some and we watched the rest from back there. Even there we were only like 50 feet away from the stage and still had a great view. |
