It looks like STX runs 5th (last run group of the day), and works 2nd.

BTW: Debbie, are you coming down?

Dean 2004-04-28 01:56 PM

Go to the Event Home and hit run/work order: http://www.scca.com/Event/Event.asp?...E70920&Id=1516

Yes. (I originally signed up for BSL)
I think we need a 'Team S.E.C.C.S. corral'.

The shade and the banner will be headding down with me, unless Dean wants to pick 'em up from me so he can bring them Friday.

Dean 2004-04-28 03:14 PM

There should be a number of Reno folks, and whoever shows up first should be grabbing space... It may be Pat Hosul...

I'll get the banner, but have my own shade so we will have two.

dknv 2004-04-28 03:50 PM

Dean, about your sig -- good point. 3 runs, make'em count!

Tip I got when I went to Nationals, is to bring a pair of walking shoes that you can throw away after the weekend. The reason being, everyone who has gone has recommended walking each course at least 5 times.

Dean 2004-04-28 03:57 PM

Any rule against videotaping the course while walking? Then you can play it back at speed...

For everyone's information; I'm signed up and pre-paid for the weekend but I can't go to the second day, so anyone who might want to try out driving in one of the bigger events like this but doesn't want to enter their own car, could hitch a ride down with Scott and co-drive with him (assuming he approves you to drive his car  ) on my entry for the second day. Matt's being a punk and won't go, :P so it's open to anyone.

This is true! But I don't know of many people that will be allowed to drive the car.

As for me, I have a lot to do, go to Home Depot, fix sprinklers, patch my ceiling, watch Nascar, etc...So it's not like I'm doing nothing.,

I don't know the logistics of two people driving my car on one entry... SCCA may not allow it for some reason, assuming their rules for drivers follow along the same lines as the rules for car mods.

 I don't really care what SCCA allows and what it doesn't, it's not like they'd have to know.

Yeah but if they found out and are pissed that's a pretty crappy thing to be "known" for, especially since it'll reflect badly on Reno Region and SECCS. There's no way you can stay for both days? I've already got the hotel taken care of and everything... just show up and drive!

AtomicLabMonkey 2004-04-29 08:05 AM

You'd have to convince Laura, we have other plans.

Put her in the car and bring her up to Atwater. :P Now you guys still "have plans".

AtomicLabMonkey 2004-04-29 08:55 AM

Well, she's coming on Saturday so you could try to convince her then - I'm not going to though, I know better.

Well, if you're not going to stay overnight, then I'm going to cancel my hotel reservations and split Dean's room. That helps me because I can go down Friday night and have a place to stay Friday and Saturday for cheaper than the one night I've got reserved right now.

good stuff any pics?

Dean 2004-05-03 11:34 AM

No Excuses, I could/should have driven better...

There were a number of shortcomings in how the event was run i could bitch about, but if I had followed through after each run to check my scores, and stayed by my car religiously, I probably could have trophied.

I know better for next time, so I learned something at least.

Most importantly, I was with a good group of people, and met some more, and overall had a good time.

"I'll be back"
