If the track day is cancelled for any reason, I will refund everyone's money, minus the (stupid) PayPal fees.

Scott,

I am interested in this, but I will not go unless I have a different car then the WRX. I should have it soon, but to be safe I don't want to pay quite yet. If the said 15 people sign up and everything is a go....is it possible for a late registration and payment?

We're accepting registration until about a week before the event. I just want to make sure we get enough people early on so we can reserve the track.

ArthurS 2004-05-20 09:09 AM

Thanks. I'll let you know my plan way before that last week.

MikeSTI 2004-05-20 11:26 AM

Art,
As long as you can be ready to pay by June 25th I think you will be ok....hehe 8)

Scott,
Is this posted anywhere else?

I posted about the event on both NASIOC and I-Club... you guys should go and bump the posts, they're in the BAIC forums. :)

It's also listed on myautoevents.com.

ArthurS 2004-05-20 12:06 PM

Bumped both threads. :D

ArthurS 2004-05-20 12:17 PM

You told us to 'bump' them. I did. Now I have to go back and actually add something.

MikeSTI 2004-05-20 12:46 PM

I'm in!

Quick Question though. I'm signing up for novice as I have never taken the car to the track, but I am attending 2 other NASA events before this one. Will it be possible to change to Group B later in the summer If I feel competent enought not to crash my car? Should I just sign up for group B?

At any rate, I'm in.

Sorry, I was just reading the new sportcompact car magazine. On their last page they show a sad photo of a bad wrx track day......pesky moving walls.

tysonK 2004-05-24 09:14 PM

Damn I'm looking at that picture also!

We should be able to accomidate a group change within a week or two of the event.

Thanks. Schedule is everything, which is why I will play it safe and sign up for group A. I wish I had more time this summer!

AtomicLabMonkey 2004-05-25 07:24 AM

I doubt I'm going to be able to make this now.

You = suck! What's already planned that you can't schedule this in there?

It's not a schedule conflict, just the car - I want to have a rollbar welded in before doing track events with it, mostly to satisfy safety requirements of myself and the woman of the house. I just doubt I'll have the kind of cash saved up to have Mike put in a good cage by then.

You're telling me you work at Maximum Motorsports and you can't get a cage installed on the cheap? Time to make friends with the fab guys at work, and have 'em get welding! I know Mike's cages are the best, but if you can get one that's 90% as nice and just as safe for half the cost... I'd do it.

Besides, you should come up for the weekend even if you're not driving. Bring Laura, we'll be BBQing and stuff too... not just racing. You can check out the track day and realize it's not so dangerous w/o a cage... it's basically like going for a canyon run, except the road is much nicer, and much safer, and there's no traffic. You only have to push the car as hard as you want, and the track's so big you can easily be all by yourself in every corner.

dirtyWRX 2004-05-25 09:27 AM

Just for the record, I'll be driving a '02 WRX.

Also, with only 30 drivers, and a 2+ mile track, I'm surprised that there won't be a lot more track time. Could no instruction and advance run together and then only run 2 groups?

I've got some tires that are just waiting to get run to the cords. :)

I think the track time is limited more by the groups using the classroom... bascially, when you're not on the track, you're in the classroom. When I did the beginner class, there was actually times where the track had *no* classes running, and it was just open for test-n-tune, and I was still able to put over 100 track miles on the car that day. Since we're taking over the entire track (assuming we get the 30 people) we might be able to get additional track time, but even if there are test-n-tune people there, track time won't be lacking. I don't think there will be times when you're sitting around waiting to get on the track.

1 more person?

Well, right now technically we've got only 1 person... me. No one else has paid! We need 15 paid participants signed up in the next 3 weeks or this track day isn't going to happen! I need to get a deposit to the track before the 26th of this month, and as much as I wish SECCS had the money to float the deposit, we simply don't have that kind of treasury.

Please, send your PayPal payment to paypal@seccs.org! If PayPal is not an option, we can accept personal checks (made out to "SECCS") via mail, or even cash in person if you wish. Contact me (sperry) or MattR via PM to arrange non-PayPal payment.

Please don't worry about losing your money if the event doesn't happen. I'm very confident that we will be have enough people for this event! And in the unlikely case the event is cancelled, I will of course refund your entry fees.
