Just pretend you're "enthused" about subarus, and no one will notice. You, BOO, and LabMonkey were taken into consideration when the thinking led away from "Subaru Owners Club" and towards "Subaru Enthusiasts Club".

'Course, I doubt you'd want to put a "Subaru <anything>" sticker on your window... lol.

SNSEC could mean "Sierra Nevada Speed Enthusiasts Club"... ?? But people might try to buy drugs off us at stop lights.

Hey !! I wouldnt mind having a sticker/decal on my cars ... to me that represents something i believe in .. something i am a part of .....

Hey, got one more:

SCECS: Sports Car Enthusiasts Club of the Sierras, and all but SCECS.com is available!

This one's vaguely phonetic, the domain name's available, it's Sierra Nevada regioned, and doesn't limit to Subarus or Imprezas... plus if you say it fast enough, it sounds like "sex" ... and it's a palindrome!

Oooh... palindrome.

tysonK 2003-04-22 04:19 PM

awesome palindromes rule!
I will prefer a Rectangle Sticker when I actually put one on my car, unless we really need to be cohesive and everyone has to have the same sticker.
Scott are you going to need a SCECS donation for the paying for the domain name and gettting a host, or do have all that kinda stuff covered? And on that sticker you should show the car(subaru) climbing OVER the mountian buwahahaha!

I'll throw in to help fund the domain name. Isn't it like 40$ a year or something minor like that?

ShawnS 2003-04-22 04:54 PM

I will put in for SCECS. It looks good on decals and I can spell it withouit thinking about it.

imprezton 2003-04-22 05:16 PM

Scott Sucks At Teh Kart Racing Club?

j/k man don't hit.

Geez everyone seems so generous, I have a paypal account(tysonwrx@sbcglobal.net) that you can donate to the Tyson Coil-Over Fund, This is a for-profit Fund that will Help me get the WRX handling I deserve, by way of Tein/Cusco Suspension Products, I work hard everyday and should definitely be given money to spend on myself. IF you feel that giving me money for coil-overs is a bit over the top, I also have a Tyson SR-30 Turbo Upgrade Fund! Please send money to the aforementioned paypal account for that Fund also, and specify that your would like me to buy the Turbo and NOT the Suspension!

,,Thanks for your support!
See yah on Thursday.

Okay, I think I finally got it....

Sierra Nevada Association of Performance Vehicle Enthusiasts

a.k.a.

"snap VE" or "snap V"

all these domains are available:

snapv.com/.net/.org/.us
snapve.com/.net/.org/.us
snap-v.com/.net./.org/.us
snap-ve.com/.net/.org/.us

so there's plenty to pick from... I'd suggest we register both snapv.org and snapve.org.

It's catchy w/o being too "riced out", and doesn't limit the group to any small region or car (in fact it doesn't even limit to cars!)

What do you guys think? Do I get a cookie?

ArthurS 2003-04-24 10:23 PM

I likey. Let me know if you want me to chip in on the domain.

AtomicLabMonkey 2003-04-25 07:35 AM

I like it... Snap-V! kinda like Initiaaallllll-D!

tysonK 2003-04-25 07:38 PM

i like snapv...WITHOUT the " - "(dash) , it kinda reminds me of spec-v, and i have a wrx, Yo!

Now we're getting somewhere! Very creative with the SWRT, except the Subaru World Rally Team has that copywritten... :x

Here's the current guidelines:

- Should represent the Sierra Nevada region... basically Sacramento to Northern Nevada.

- Should attempt to include all performance enthusiasts. We've already got members that don't drive Subarus... (however, because the club is mostly Subaru based I'm thinking they the non-subaru members may just have to live with being in a "subaru" club... after all it's not like we're going around to every sports car we see and leaving URLs... it's really just the Subarus... sorry if anyone feels alienated, it doesn't mean I don't want you in the group! Everyone's truely welcome!!)

- Should have a short phonectically pronouncable acronym... or at least it shouldn't be hard to say!

- Should have an available domain name in the .org top level. (You can check free names at www.netsol.com)

Keep 'em coming JC! Those are some of the best so far... except STAR is a little too "My Little Pony"... ;)

S.C.O.R. (Sports Cars of Reno)
