Results are up on the web site... http://www.RenoSCCA.com

I did not drive particuarly well Sunday. My eyes were not up, and I kept underdriving the first third of the course, and could not get the braking right in the box as my Spin and plow showed...

Congratulations to all for a great season.

Matt and Eric, you both drove very well Sunday.

If Matt had been driving NESP all season, he might well have been in the running for a PAX trophy.

Despite his complaints to the contrary over recent weeks/months, Scott does get a 2nd place trophy in STX since Tyson ran enough events to qualify for season points. Scott needs to buy Tyson dinner...

I am a proud member of the Reno division of the Subaru Car Club of America... :D

Nick Koan 2004-10-11 07:46 PM

Woohoo. Its fun to see my name up there, even if it is really far down

No fair Dean.... you're supposed to say "I drove very well" so I can feel good about almost catching you. :P

And I agree about Matt in NESP... he would have finished much better... Matt, you should come over sometime and we'll recalculate the standings with you in NESP and see where you finish. ;)

When I went and double checked the sups regarding the necessary participants for trophies, I was pleasently surprised to find out that 3 participants means 2 trophies. So, thanks to Tyson! And Mike, you're off the hook. :P

And Dean, I agree about Reno SCCA. I said it last season, and it's still true now, Reno SCCA is the best group of racers I've ever met. Lots of regions have problems with egos taking over... yet Reno is still friendly and helpful to old and new autocrossers alike. I too am proud to be part of such a great group! :D

<climbs out of spider hole>

Seriously though, congratulations to everyone, some great results for the season!

This was a great season. With all the different events and fierce competition I knew every time I went to auto-x it was going to be a kick. Having Dean set the high mark in STX was a great push for me to get my driving focused and shoot for that low time. At times I was frustrated with my car(after driving Dean's) but I know it made me a better driver to go out there with less power and suspension. I knew I had to run decent lines to make a good showing.

Reno region rules! I love having the knowledge that everyone there is willing to help you when you really need it. Carol and Dave really make you feel at home when you are walking around or even when you are driving.

I’d have to say the highlight of my season was the RED/BLUE even though Dean and I didn’t prevail it was some great motivation. My finish on Sunday within 1.8 sec of Dean was fun for me also.

I’m sure next year is going to full of smack talking and class hopping.

You guys may be right, but too little too late I guess...Anyway, 12th in Open PAX in my second season, I can;t complain about that, I'm very happy with my performance this year...

I's have to agree with Tyson, the BLUE v. RED challenge was my highlight of the season, I has so much fun driving Scott's Car in STX...wow.

Good season boys and girls.

For those of you who didn't quite get enough autocrossing up there in Reno, there is one more American Auto-X event this weekend at Castle AFB. 8)

Dean 2004-10-12 01:40 PM

There is also an Enduro the 23-24th in Stockton. 3x 2 lap pratices on Sat, and a 5 lap run Sunday for all the marbles...

sperry 2004-10-12 01:52 PM

Quit tempting me you bastards! The next event I'm considering is the Audi Club event at Sears Point. I need some downtime.

Really? Sounds cool....Austin, did you run that event last year? I remember someone talking about it...

Yeah, I've run a couple of the enduros. Loved it when it was up in Sacramento, mixed feelings about it now that it's been moved to Stockton. I love the enduro format, but the Stockton site itself sucks ass. The pavement is shitty, and the course will be small because the available space is very limited. I'm not going to make the effort to go this year. I will be at Atwater next weekend though. 8)

Yup, I already got a Motel-6 room reserved for Saturday night. I don't run until the afternoon on Sat., so I'm gonna drive up that morning. As I recall it's a single bed room, but I could see if I could change it to a 2-bed.

I might be coming... if Pat comes with me, then I'll just grab a room w/ him, otherwise, I'll split one w/ you.

...dammit, I was planning on sitting on my ass this weekend. :x

That reminds me... I need to borrow the RenoSCCA scales to do that to the WRX during the off-season. Unfortunately, I don't really know much about corner weights... other than what I learned in Papy's NASCAR Racing games.

Scott- I'm game if you want to go. You may need to haul at least two of my Hoosiers though. S2000s haul ass but little else.

Unless you're getting pretty in-depth into chassis setup, I don't think there's any reason to do anything other than equal out the two diagonal weights (RF-LR & LF-RR) so there's no bias turning one way or the other.

This is what I did with my WRX before nationals... I got within 10 lbs on the two cross corners with 1/4 tank of gas.

It is critical that tire pressures are correctly set, and make sure your numbers are reproducable.

With my suspension, I had to have the car running on the scales for the suspension to settle evenly and consistantly.

To settle the suspension we just roll the car back off the scales and then back on after each adjustment.
