Let's see... the cost of gas, plus inconvience of having to drive to/from Fernley a few times, vs. getting to sleep in my own bed instead of paying for a shared motel room in Fernley.

I think I'll be staying in Reno and commuting to the track day.

MattR 2005-05-02 01:38 PM

Yeah, I will be commuting from Reno too...No big deal, it's only 40 minutes to get out there.

MikeK 2005-05-02 02:27 PM

I thought at thunderhill in january that there were a couple of people who showed up on the saturday morning, they missed the friday meeting.

Dean 2005-05-02 02:58 PM

We extremely frown on folks not coming to the Friday meetings.

Feel free to commute, but don't be late...

Your confirmation should have a link to a welcome packet that has all the info. Fri. meetings will be at the community center, and BBQ/Banquet will be at the Golf Club. Tech & Reg is at the track. Hotels got nothing, so all you do there is sleep.

good news and some of you will laugh and be in shock but my grandparents want to run their 97 SVX!! So i FOR SURE will be out there =D

Kevin M 2005-05-02 06:20 PM

You REALLY should get out there in your car Brandon. You'll learn more in this weekend (making you both faster on the track and safer on the street) than you will anywhere else short of a full-on driving school like Skip Barber or Jim Russell.

U53D 2005-05-08 08:59 AM

I know you wrote this, but I was just going through the list and did not see you registered for the event. It is Brandon, isn't it?

EDIT: Ignore this... We are having data extract problems from the database. You are there.

So people who have been to an Audi event, Nick, Mike, Debbie... should I make Matt and Scott go through the classroom and exercises and put them in the beginner group?

I won't mind the classroom time if it doesn't take away from my track time. But unless the beginner group plans on hitting the esses at 110 mph... it's probably better for all of us if I'm in an intermediate group.

That would be truly evil of you. Unless this is your way to get back at Scott for taking your car offroad.

doubleurx 2005-06-02 10:59 AM

Dean how many people are in a run group? Can we all get together in a single run group?

I don't know that Scott or Matt need the slalom or braking exercises, but they really should do the Lane Toss!

MikeK 2005-06-02 11:49 AM

They can practice the lane toss at 120 mph in turns 1 - 4

So, you either go into turns 1-4, or you go into the drag strip starting area...

Or into the weeds. So there you have it - 3 lane toss.

(I should shut up, I will probably be next)

sperry 2005-06-02 03:56 PM

Even though Matt went off in much more spectacular fashion, I had in-car for my off which makes it infinitely cooler than Matt's off. :P
