Dean's got a thing for 1960/70's James Bond style cars.
And that certainly is not the coolest MBZ... these are cooler: 1955 Gullwing 300 SL http://www.motorsm.com/gallery/art/DI/DI_GULLWING.jpg 2005 Mercades/McLaren SLR http://www.edmunds.com/media/roadtes...lr.f34.500.jpg McLaren/Mercades F1 http://www.mercedes-benz.si/images/p...rt/2005/f1.jpg At least IMO. :) |
Scott loses, he is dissing my car, and he posted a non-game related sequence.
Go read about the C111 series and then come back and talk to me. And yes, I like gull wings. Edit, and what is James Bondish about the R8? |

US: 2005 Ford GT
![]() I didn't grow up a car guy... I was 20 before I really got into them, so I prefer modern performance over nostalgia usually. Plus, this is the only car that white (with the blue stripes) would be my first color choice. Japan: 1972 Bondurant Datsun 240Z http://www.classicdatsun.com/zz/0107...ant07_zoom.jpg Okay I lied. Some cars simply can never overcome the sheer appeal of the original. If I ever get the chance to rebuild/restore a car just because I think it's cool, it will probably be a 240Z. UK: 2000 Prodrive Subaru Impreza STi P1 edition http://www.inauto.com/media/024001002933.jpg For some reason I always liked the P1 better than the 22b, despite it having less all-around performance. I guess the uber-rare halo care status of the 22b makes the P1 more "real" to me or something. Regardless, the P1 could not have been made any better for it's purpose- driving around the UK at criminal speeds on mostly terrible roads. Germany: BMW 850ci ![]() This is what you get when you build an SVX for BMW buyers. Even without a manual, this car is bad ass. Europe: 2002 Ferrari 575M Maranello ![]() If I could have one car, free of charge, I'd probably pick this one. It doesn't have the sheer performance of the GT or a 911 or a 360 Modena, but I'd want it for an everyday use car where 10/10ths doesn't matter anyway. It's my favorite Gran Turismo. And, Ferrari is the only marque where red would be my first color choice. |
I'm sorry, but this has gone from a freindly game of post "your favorite car from that marque!" to post "your favorite car from that marque!" and let Scott tell you why it's wrong.
First he rags on Aaron's "7" which rocks by the way..., then Scotty's 996, and then basically my whole list... F that. |
The new Ford GT is like 99% the same as the original GT-40. Sure the tech is better, but like your point about the 240Z Kevin, why bother w/ the do-over... 'Course there are only like 7 original GT-40's left... so you'd have to buy a replica. At least owning a GT, you'd have a real Ford product.

2) You don't have to play. 3) What's keeping you from discussing my choices. 4) The whole point of this was to generate conversation, since the board's been really light lately... just posting a bunch of pictures and not talking about 'em doesn't actually help busy up the board much. 5) No one's actually posted any crappy cars... 'cept maybe the DMC... but that one is certainly unique. :P |
A strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess? -Joshua

With the 240... well, the 350Z didn't survive modernization as well as the GT did. It's still cool, but compared to its competition, it doesn't shine like the 240 did. Quote:

To me, the nostalgia makes the older car the "better" car. (And for Dean's sake: that's just my opinion, posted for the sake of conversation, not because I'm somehow trying to discredit or imply that Kevin's wrong.) |
It's a good thing you guys are so into cars too, otherwise you'd never overcome all of your accumulated geek points. Back on topic! More cool cars!

BTW: is that the one that starts w/ the kid playing Pole Position at like level 99 where it's going so fast the machine breaks or something? |
