Since the verbal pronounciation of 's' is pronounced 'ess', it need the 'an' instead of 'a'.

Have you ever seen a snake with an STD sipping a soda on an STi sending a snapshot of a scorpion to an SVT.

But, for what its worth, I've had a few teachers argue that the correct grammar is to say "a STi" but they are few and far between compared to the teachers that would say "an STi"
