ARg, wow no way. i had some stupid Gapper hit my 03 WRX like 4 months ago (sold it 2 months ago) comprehensive deductable $500 estimated bumper repair (492) :( how do they plan that out so well ? my silver wrx was parked at my apartment though when i got hit. (i still blaime a gaper) that sucks. sorry that happened to you.
and my day job isn't tourist dependant at all. (i'm a web monkey) my side work for www.ridelaketahoe.com definatly is tourist depandent. but i'll still curse then out when they are doing 20 with chains on, and won't use the damn turn outs, right lanes. arg :P lol gotta love tahoe driving / riding ...

Do you guys actually mean "gaper"? As in "one who gapes"? 'Cause "gapper" means "one who gaps", and I don't know what "gapping" is... sounds like someone who jumps over a long gap on a snowboard or something. :lol:

gapper actually came about from tourists who would leave a large gap between their googles and ski hat. but then later people started pronouncing it gay - per as in someone who stands around staring at things. in any event, its basically for tourists / nooobs ... :)

I can sympathize, hell I live in a tourist town too. Every weekend GB is filled with jacked up monster trucks and RV's speeding & swerving through the streets hauling trailers full of ATV's & dune buggies with 9 ketchup-smeared kids chomping on McD's while watching their portable DVD players and hanging out the window making faces at you.

But I know that's the reason this area survives, so you don't hear me bitching about it.
