Yeah I just realized I linked the wrong thread. But you should be able to read i-club threads without being signed in anyway.

Libila 2006-10-30 09:09 PM

Thanks for the link, but I'm done with red cars for a while, or the rest of my life.

Pete's car is still a possibility but I'm not sure what's going on with it right now.

Forgotten 2006-10-31 01:28 PM

I faxed the title to Marcus this morning. Get online sometime so I can talk to you.

tysonK 2006-10-31 01:43 PM

I heard Pete's car has a salvage title.....just kidding.

Forgotten 2006-10-31 02:31 PM

It will after I crash it into yours.

Um, that would be great for Tyson... 'cause now your insurance buys his car at a higher price than he'd get selling it private party. Hell, you too with your car for that matter, you'd just have to take it IDP with your insurance rates for a few years.

Libila 2006-10-31 09:14 PM

Sorry Pete, I had class last night. Send me a PM and I'll try to call Marcus later today.

I've got no driving record whatsoever. I'm pretty sure I get one freebie. Let's do it Tyson!

Haha do you remember your "Drive your car into Lake Tahoe" scheme? I hope it's only a slight step above that one.

I can't say I remember that one. I've had so many schemes, it's hard to keep track.

Bob Danger 2006-11-01 01:39 AM

Oh, wait is this the one where I steal your car and drive it off a cliff and into the lake?

That sounds like something you would scheme up. Could deserve a :brill: ?

JonnydaJibba 2006-11-01 01:22 PM

I'm pretty good at stealing Subarus.

Yes, yes you are. Too bad I have to catch the verbal wrath via a phone call the next morning about a blown tire that I had no part in

sp00ln 2006-11-01 02:09 PM

Maybe.... in six months.... to visit....

sp00ln 2006-11-02 09:05 AM

So why do you want to get a car?

Kevin M 2006-11-02 09:20 AM

Dude, he lives in Germany... is there a better possible reason to want a car? :p

sp00ln 2006-11-02 10:33 AM

Ha, I realize this. Does he plan to buy a car in the U.S. and ship it back to Germany? If so, why? Why not buy a car in Germany (which I realize you have) and wait until you get back to the states to buy a car. Also, if you do plan on buying here and shipping it, will it be legal in Germany? Finally, have you been viewing those Mustang Cobra commercials on youtube or something, Tim? Is that what's inspiring you? :p

I'm just having a hard time connecting the dots here on why he would want to buy a car state side when he could just get the same car for about the same price in Germany.

That brings up a good ponit, if Tim buys a WRX now he's going to be stuck with a WRX, whereas if he waits for a year, he could buy a STI, or any of the other cars he can't afford in Germany. That's concidering that he comes back to the states. If he decides to stay overseas I suggest buying a USDM WRX, that way he could bring it back with him whenever he comes back, and he won't have to start over again with a new car.

Here is the deal Ryan:

The military will ship a car free of charge from the states as long as it's one year before my scheduled duty station change, assuming I don't extend. I plan on either extending or going to Okinawa once my time is up here. I'm going to stay overseas as long as the military is paying for it, and I'm getting out once my four years are up. With that being said, I don't plan on coming back to the states to live for another 3.2 years. Lastly, yes, US spec vehicles are legal here.

I have been fighting off the urge to buy a Mustang since my new-found best friend is the smartest and coolest Mustang owner ever...

I have been tossing the idea around of buying an older WRX or Evo over here and then selling it once my time is up.

Kevin M 2006-11-02 01:17 PM

You should also think about bringing back a WRX, Evo, or M3 to sell as a track car back here. You could probably profit on it if you wait for a great deal.
