I know I did.

I was on the same track as Scott with Shelby marque. And when I finally got it, I wanted to kick my own ass.

khail19 2007-01-17 03:45 PM

It was actually the first car I thought of with a huge side scoop.

11 and 18 are killing me, because I know that I've seen them before.

14,17, and 24 I really have no idea. I figured 17 was a VW Thing, but I was wrong.

Nick Koan 2007-01-17 03:47 PM

14 is weird. I knew it right away, but I couldn't tell you why, or whats really distinguishing about the picture.

I just figured it out... that picture is a lot closer to the car than I realized!

Hints:

11 is Italian

18 is a car extremely famous for it's looks, and has been used as inspiration for many more modern cars

Nick Koan 2007-01-17 03:55 PM

Also, if it helps any Khail, I don't think 17 or 24 ever came to the states. Though, both are pretty famous in motorsports.

OK, got 11. I'd thought of it before, but apparently never spelled it right. For 18 I keep thinking 240z but I know it's not quite the same. I've seen a few Ferraris with that style headlight too, but that's not it either.

Shit! I knew 17, but spelled it wrong and assumed it was something else!!

Yeah, I didn't get that one. I had to ask Aaron. Pissed me off when I heard it too.

Lets see, I missed 4, 6, 10, 12, 13 (missed the model only), 17, 21 (got the make, got half the model too, but didn't type the whole name in properly), 23, 24, 25.

This was all before I gave up and just IM'd the master :p

sperry 2007-01-17 04:10 PM

Nick, how bout a hint for 12, 15 or 24?

Nick Koan 2007-01-17 04:14 PM

12, uh, I already forgot. Doh.

15 and 24 are French and the same make. They've both participated in rallying, but I don't think ever at the top level of the WRC.

khail19 2007-01-17 04:38 PM

For 12, it's basically the only car I know of that sort of looks like a Beetle. But boxier.

I can't believe 24 is the same make as 15. I still don't know the model though.

Think WWII era.

sperry 2007-01-17 04:50 PM

Okay, I got 15 and 24... the French hint led me to 'em.

sybir 2007-01-17 05:40 PM

For 12, it's British, and it was the UK "people's car" that preceded the Mini.

sybir 2007-01-17 05:43 PM

For 24, it's the cheapest car ever made, and it was designed that way.

Not an MG, not a Triumph, not a Rover, not an Austin Healey... I'm outta ideas!

sybir 2007-01-17 06:50 PM

The guy who designed the Mini designed #12 more than a decade prior.

sybir 2007-01-17 06:53 PM

Here's another hint. Austin, who made the Mini, was on of BMC's brands. This car was made by one of their other brands.

Lemme know when you give up :)

WRX06TR 2007-01-17 07:16 PM

Weird, I clicked on the link, scrolled down to the bottom and then saw I got 2/50. I scrolled back up and saw that #1 was already filled in for me (Matt's answer?).
