I thought mine for my old car was fitting after what happened. 610-RNP.

NevadaSTi 2007-04-19 09:03 AM

Chris (Bruspeed) has a RNP license plate also.

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-19 09:32 AM

Well let's hope his car doesn't crash itself too.

Kevin M 2007-04-19 09:33 AM

Good thing you didn't spell the N-word out. You might offend all of the black people that frequent the board. :P

I didn't know you had to be black to be offended by the n-word.

I guess you don't. You can choose to be offended or not offended by anything you read.

Being offended is not usually something you choose. Its usually a gut reaction.

NevadaSTi 2007-04-19 10:37 AM

I think Psychologists would argue the oposite of that Nick. Rational people can choose to be not effected or offended by racial slurs. However, most people are only offended by personal stuff that is of a direct nature that has in the past led to an unpleasant experience.

A minor example of this, people used to tease me about my Red hair in grade school. Now that I am older and more mature, I don't give a crap what people say about my hair color. When I was 7 or 8, yeah it bothered me.

The last time I used the 'N' word in a hateful way, third grade.

cody 2007-04-19 10:41 AM

Well, regardless, I think we can chalk this up to a case of me trying to be funny gone very wrong. :(

That is going the opposite way. Of course the rational brain can choose not be offended. That I agree with.

But, people don't usually see or hear something, and then later choose to be offended.

I thought it was funny. Some people are too uptight about words. IMO, words only hurt you if you let them. There are those cases Brian mentioned where a word could have been used against them in a tramatic experience and a word can bring back those emotions, but that's not your average case.

cody 2007-04-19 10:59 AM

I don't think anyone here would still be here if they were easily offended. :P

MPREZIV 2007-04-19 12:03 PM

Yes, I must be careful not to offend myself...

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-19 12:04 PM

Bob Danger 2007-04-19 05:03 PM

I'm just lucky I didn't drive to Oakland with that plate.
