Regardless of the extenuating circumstances, I can see why the guy might be upset but he shouldn't be angry and screaming "scammer!" :?:

I can see why he yelled 'scammer' at first, but being dead is a pretty good excuse for not shipping something out on time. He should have forgiven and moved on.

Man Nasioc is pathetic. I hate that site.

Are you kidding me?

Sometimes people are too quick to call scammer there. While there probably are a fair amount of scammers, there doesn't seem to be any leniency for real problems and exceptions.

It probably would have gone a little better is Dayofpain would have responded with a little more... how do you say... tact.

left footed whooten 2008-02-06 11:29 AM

^^^ I agree, but still. I'd at least give someone a half of a benefit of a doubt if they said they were in an ICU.

....you look like you could have been one of my patients. Glad you weren't, I don't like to have to jab a foley into someone I 'know'.

Know how lucky you are to be discharged from the ICU and seemingly 'normal'. I spy ventilator, NG, BIS monitor, and I suspect you were on a few titrated drips. Most folks don't recover from such a state. Glad you made it.
NASIOC can go molest collies

Agreed, a little tact would have gone a long way. But anyone that knows Phil knows he tends to bluntly call it as he sees it.

I can understand being pissed off when getting out of the hospital and having to deal with this crap and cutting loose in the thread. Was it a good move? Not really. But it's understandable.

dayofpain 2008-02-06 01:39 PM

i responded like that because of the emails he sent me. the other posts he had made. not to mention the countless pm's he sent me. i had also sold my prodrive seat at the same time. the other buyer was completely nice and content. i got back to him with "tact" and he got his seat. sure he was a little miffed it took so long but after explaining it to him he was 100% cool. this other guy just flipped shit and was a complete dickhead. i knew people would be upset. i tried to be nice and contact him through pm first but he kept posting on the thread. he kept being a dick through pm's. i guess i had enough when i finally noticed the thread was moved to scammer section.

Totally understandable IMO. The guy was out of line for not giving you the benefit of the doubt, especially considering the situation w/ the hospital plus having gotten his money back from PayPal.

At that point most people would just be happy they didn't get scammed for real and drop the issue.

JonnydaJibba 2008-02-06 03:30 PM

I can't stand NASIOC. What a load. That seriously makes me so angry. Lately it seems the only time I go there I get mad. I'm pretty much fed up with large boards in general. People that don't know each other act too stupid over the interweb.

tysonK 2008-02-06 03:35 PM

Well for every fucktard like that you got plenty of friends around here.

I hope you have a quick recovery.

dayofpain 2008-02-06 07:25 PM

i really appreciate everything you guys have said.

i cant wait to come back out. i miss my car now. i put my bride seat in the other day. a gias maziora. sooo much nicer than the prodrive.

knucklesplitter 2008-02-06 08:02 PM

I wish you a fast recovery, Phil. Glad you are getting back to normal so (relatively) quickly.

Reading the NASIOC thread it sounds like Paypal may be screwing up the buyer's knee-jerk claim. Or he could just be full of shit...

I wouldn't put it past PayPal to hold the money for a week or so under the pretext of "investigation" just so they can make interest on it.

Figure with all the disputes filed, they probably can pull in $1M/year extra income off that move alone.

dayofpain 2008-02-07 12:23 AM

i guess the only thing i can say is, i dont have it anymore. and havent had it since like jan 9th. so i dont give a fuck.

JC 2008-02-07 03:47 PM

Glad you are ok now man. That's some scary stuff. Hopefully you'll come out better for the experience though.

You must not know Phil.

dknv 2008-02-07 05:52 PM

Wishing you a good continuing recovery. You're a miracle, considering all you went through (of what you remember). People who haven't been through the 'hospital experience' have no clue. If they are unlucky and end up in the same boat (ooh - is that an 'old people' expression?) someday they may have to go through such an experience and then their attitude will come back to haunt them...

When I was in for spinal surgery and had a complication, I was put on a demerol drip for awhile. While I was awake, Rachel told me later I sounded really out of it - and I don't even remember her being there and talking to her. I could hardly function. You have my empathy.

Kavid 2008-02-12 09:23 PM

Hey Phil! When I talked to you a little while ago, you said you had not doing so well, but damn! That pic says alot. If you need ANYTHING at all brotha, you have my number. Do not hesitate to call if you need ANYTHING! Can't wait til you are 100%. Give me a call when you are for sure! Take Care
