Yeah the stock air box + snorkus is good. or going with a Short Ram air + snorkus and elbow, or cut your snorkus duct tape (it is an air duct after all) some cardboard in there to deflect the flow onto your short ram. i suggest making a heat sheild from some cheap tin you can pick up at a hardware store. make sure you don't leave an opening to the headers.
Pyrometer testing a few summers ago, i was able to reduce my Cone Temp by about 30F . where i was letting the car iddle for 5 minutes fully warmed up. merged into a 65 zone, which went to 55, then 45, pulled off onto a 30, then into a parking lot (lil bit of 5 mph driving) and pulled over to zap the cone with my pyrometer. ( I didn't want the test to be directly after full speed crusing) i got about a 30F drop both when it was 70 out and when it was 95 out ... :) or pay lots more money and by the Cobb all in 1 solution as pictured above. |
