Boy, Alonso's gonna get along great with Massa... :unamused:

Felipe Massa has got his 2010 pairing at Ferrari with Fernando Alonso off to an awkward start, asserting that the Spaniard's controversial win in Singapore last year "robbed" him of the world championship.

The Brazilian, who is recuperating from serious head injuries and set to return as Alonso's team-mate next season, suggested that the 28-year-old should have been disqualified as the winner of F1's first night race over the 'crash-gate' affair.

"All of what happened was robbery - but regarding the race nothing has happened, the result remains the same. This is not right," Massa told Brazilian Globo television.

"The robbery changed the outcome of a championship and I lost," he added, referring to Ferrari's botched pitstop that was triggered by the safety car period to clear Nelson Piquet's deliberately crashed Renault.

Massa said he cannot understand why F1's results are set in stone just weeks after the end of each championship, even when serious race-fixing later comes to light.

"I have seen in football how a referee took money to throw a game and all the suspect results were annulled," he charged.

"In Italy, Juventus were relegated. But here they just sent Briatore home. I don't get it and I don't think it was right."
Something tells me Alonso's gonna get on w/ Ferrari about as well as he got on at McLaren. Ugh.

I'm now rooting for Massa to take the DC next year. And then for him to smack Alonso with the trophy.

Oh, and this story is awesome (and sad)

http://www.crash.net/f1/news/152992/..._fall-out.html

Quote:

Felipe Massa afforded Nelson Piquet Jr a cursory handshake when the pair met at a Brazilian kart circuit this week, but repeated the claim that his countryman's 'accident' in last year's Singapore Grand Prix cost him the F1 world title.

Although Piquet attempted to greet the recovering Massa when they bumped into each other at the Kartodromo Granja Viana, the Ferrari pilot reportedly resisted the offered embrace and opted for a polite handshake instead. Piquet, clearly embarrassed by the awkwardness of the situation, left briskly and their paths did not cross again for the remainder of the day.
I feel really really really bad for Massa now. Especially since the results of the race are going to stand. I can certainly understand his frustration at Piquet, Renault and even Alonso... I really hope Ferrari gives him a good car next year to win the championship (and hopefully he put Alonso into a wall once or twice for good measure).

While I totally feel for the way Massa got totally owned by Renault's bullshit, he needs to get his mind right. There's nothing he can do about '08 now, and he's lost '09 to a freak accident that was totally out of his control. He needs to channel all his angst and anger about how he keeps getting screwed into focus on how he's going to get healthy and show up to every round of 2010 to win.

He needs to give his pal Schumacher a call during the off season and get some tips on being a cold, calculating, race dominator. The best revenge he could ask for is to out pace, out qualify, and out score Alonso in every round on his way to a driver's championship.

That's good news. Kubic's a good driver and deserves a good car. Since Ferrari and McLaren appear all booked up, I think Renault or RedBull are the teams that would help his career the best. Renault seems like a good match. And now that Alonso doesn't drive for them, and Flavio got fired... I think I can be a Renault fan!

Hey look, there's a chance that F1 in 2010 will finally be broadcast in full HD!

(File this under Silly Season 2011... since he's under contract w/ Gibbs thru 2010 and doesn't have a SuperLicense.)

skimonkey30 2009-10-22 08:15 PM

I'm sure that'll work out well for Peter Windsor

sperry 2009-10-23 08:47 AM

Jean Todt beat Ari Vatanen for the FIA presidency. Looks like the F in F1 still stands for Ferrari... but I've got to think Todt is going to be miles better than Max Mosley was.

sperry 2009-10-29 01:41 PM

Okay, let's try this again!

Brawn/Mercedes: Button / Senna?
McLaren: Hamilton / Rosberg
Ferrari: Alonso / Massa
Red Bull: Vettel / Webber
Renault: Kubica / Glock
Toyota: Nakajima / Kobayashi?
Toro Rosso: Buemi / Alguersuari
Williams: Barrichello / Hulkenberg
Force India: Sutil / Luizzi
USF1: Wurz? / ?
Virgin/Manor: Di Grassi / ?
Campos: Del La Rossa / Petrov
Lotus: Trulli / Heidfeld?
Sauber: Kovalainen? / ?

Raikkonen will have to go race rally cars unless Rosberg ends up at Brawn and he can go back to McLaren.

Nick Koan 2009-10-29 02:41 PM

I'm going go with...

Brawn/Mercedes: Button / Rosberg
McLaren: Hamilton / Raikonen
Ferrari: Alonso / Massa
Red Bull: Vettel / Webber
Renault: Kubica / Glock
Toyota: Trulli / Kobayashi
Toro Rosso: Buemi / Alguersuari
Williams: Barrichello / Hulkenberg
Force India: Sutil / Luizzi
USF1: Wurz / Andretti
Virgin/Manor: Di Grassi / B Senna
Campos: Del La Rossa / Petrov
Lotus: Heidfeld / Kovalanien
Sauber: Leaving threatening voicemails for Frank Williams

Trulli has almost certainly been canned from Toyota and linked to a ride a Lotus next year.

Also, I just saw that Senna may end up at Campos... which does make your Rosberg @ Brawn and Kimi @ McLaren more plausible.

Nick Koan 2009-10-29 03:25 PM

The only reason I think Toyota will resign Trulli is because they aren't going to get Raikkonen like they were hoping for. Its a longshot, but a lot of the lower order is somewhat of a longshot too. I also doubt Marco Andretti will make it to USF1. Maybe Grosjean will take up a drive with USF1 for a little bit.

I could see Trulli and Heidfield at Lotus though. The lower order is kind of hard to predict.

Nick Koan 2009-10-30 12:43 PM

Looks like the Brazilian media is calling Senna to Campos as a done deal. Should hear an announcement soon.

http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/news/2009/...s-with-campos/
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/79879

He also twittered that he does have a drive for next year, but didn't say who (and the tweet was deleted shortly after).

'Guys, I'd like to thank you all for the great support!' Bruno wrote on Twitter. 'After many weeks of hard work and negotiations, me and my management finally made it! I'm very happy and I'd like to share this moment with you! Now it's time to focus and work hard in preparation for next season! I'd like to thank God, my family, friends and everybody who supports me for the extra strength given! Thanks!!'

Edit: Campos has confirmed it

"I dont know why President Todt is not here in FIA gear......maybe they dont make it in childrens sizes"

Yeah. Low blow indeed.

skimonkey30 2009-11-01 05:22 PM

From the "RPM" segment it seems that USF1 is doing pretty well contrary to the reports we keep hearing. Sucks to lose Peter on the grid pre-race but look forward to seeing his team next year!

Nick Koan 2009-11-01 10:49 PM

And now Bridgestone will be leaving at the end of next year.
