I just got home after the weekend at thunderhill to discover that the heavy wet snow had collaped almost every covered parking area in the apartment complex where I live. Now people are parked wherever they can find space ... including in front of my garage :evil:

Deflate a couple tires and they'll get the hint. ;)

I also cooked my brakes, and stripped a wheel lug, so I had to miss my last 2 sessions :(

Heh, the last time those were on a car, Scott was driving them over the pass during the first snow flurries in November. Or maybe it was just cold rain... either way, he didn't have the luxury of runoff like Turn 3. :p

The time I had a turn3 encounter, I slid clockwise and backed into the hill on the right side, facing the oncoming cars. And since it was raining (and in Audi schools they used to have us keep both driver's and instructor's windows open) the mud came flying in the windows. Later when my instructor (did you meet Chris Rooke?) got out of the car, his helmet had much mud splatter. Funny now, but it spooked me at the time.

I offered to let him use my car for his last session, but he was feeling a bit superstitious.

The drive back was fine. Water and sand were about as bad as it got except for maybe 5-10 miles over the summit. They had chain control signs up, but no guy standing behinf his motor home checking anything, so they weren't real serious aboutit. R1 I guess.

My neighborhood was worse than ever... Just keeping the car moving, much less close to the direction you wanted in teh slushcrete and ice was a major challenge. Had to park in my neighbors driveway while I made a parking place in mine... I think each shovelful weighed about 50 lbs.

Got my "new" used snow blower working this AM. Does OK considering how heavy this junk is. Still more to be done, but needed a break.

On saturday, in the rain, I had 2 sessions, I think about 25 minutes each.

On sunday, when it was finally dry, I had about 30 minutes or so. My first session I couldn't find my instructor, he had gone into town to gas his car up, so I only got onto the track for about 7 minutes :( Then I got one full session, 20 - 25 minutes I think, after that my brakes were done. Then I stripped a lug nut while I was trying to bleed them. :evil:
