Good shit! Me Likey! The color is def. a-o-k in my book!

doubleurx 2005-11-26 10:39 AM

Very nice Scott. Great work!

sybir 2005-11-26 10:39 AM

It looks killer, man. I like it the way it is, personally. I can see where the gridlines hit, so it doesn't disrupt my eye.

You know I'm in for like 12 of whatever anyways ;)

Nick Koan 2005-11-26 10:43 AM

I am definitely okay with that design.

doubleurx 2005-11-26 10:46 AM

Any chances for kids sizes this time? Bayley would love one of these.

tysonK 2005-11-26 11:24 AM

Great job Scott! We are lucky to have some one to do this for us.

I think losing some of the grid lines in the SECCS lettering would be good.

I think the hotside(the side pointed away in the picture?) of the turbo should be smaller.

I love the colors very indie music labelish.

sperry 2005-11-26 11:29 AM

The gridlines are random, placed similarly to the way I'd crosshatch a drawing just to "balance" it, and not as reference lines to anything else in the drawing. They're not meant to look like part of the blueprint, they're just there to busy up the drawing. I'm still pretty undecided about keeping them or changing them.

There isn't a single line anywhere in the artwork that's less than one point thick. Theoreticallly the screen printer should have no problem with the image, unless there are spots where the lines are so close together that they blend into a single line, which won't really be an issue. The detail that Deede mentioned on the SRIC design was significantly smaller than the details in this design, so I'm not too worried.

The colors seem to be okay with everyone, but I'm still not sure about light blue on maroon. The maroon was picked by popular choice earlier in this thread, and the blue was from the simple "let's make it look like a blueprint" decision. There was no real consideration about how they look with each other. Does anyone have some suggestions for alternate color schemes they'd like to see? I'm a little worried that we won't be able to see the white and very-light-blue on top of the light-blue background. We may need a higher contrast alternative color scheme.

As far as kids sizes... there shouldn't be a problem ordering a few very small sizes, as long as the design fits. I don't want to make consessions that will make the adult sizes look funny because we want to make sure that the screens fit on a kid's medium. Perhaps we can do some kids versions w/o the large back image and just put the turbo on the back or something...

Thanks everyone! Keep the feedback coming!

sperry 2005-11-26 11:33 AM

Oh and, I think I will keep two of the SECCS logos, and replace one with the "www.seccs.org" text (once I'm back in Reno and I have access to my font collection).

Any opinions on which one to change? Or maybe use the SECCS on the back, "www.seccs.org" on the sleeve, and "Subaru Enthusiasts Car Club of the Sierras" on the front?

kidatari 2005-11-26 02:08 PM

Looks very nice Scott, 22B FTW ;)

That makes sense.

The designs are lookin' great, but the way the turbo is angled makes it almost look like something. . . risque.

sonicsuby 2005-11-26 04:14 PM

me likey

doubleurx 2005-11-26 05:58 PM

I'm for keeping the gridlines as they lend themselves to being the invention and process of the design. Thanks for considering the kids version.

I'm pretty sick of looking at it and playing with colors, to the point that I've got no clue what looks decent anymore, so input on colors and basic layout stuff is appreciated.

The pistons go on the front breast pocket area, the 22B is on the back, and the turbo/logo is on the sleeve. The SECCS logos aren't intended to be in all 3 locations, it'll probably stick around only on the sleeve, but they're in all 3 locations for now. Also, the I'm not sure if the extra grid lines should stay or not.

+1 i want one, black, white or dark grey. great design. Let me know when i can order one. i will take one just as it is with the grid lines.

JonnydaJibba 2005-11-28 07:54 AM

You did a hella good job. It's hard working on a design by yourself because after a while of looking at it, it just looks horrible. But no, not this. Only thing I would suggest is that if you put the url, put it on the back bottom maybe? Just not the sleeve because it's a lot of letters and it would be harder to read on a sleeve.

bxracer69 2005-11-28 12:24 PM

Matt, you have to admit, it's a hella good design

On a side note, I was called out by a girl at UTEP today for using the words "bro" and "gnar" while telling a story about Jonny.

JonnydaJibba 2005-12-01 07:24 AM

What? Why would you EVER use the word bro when talking about me? Gnar, I'll take that I guess.

Aw you were talking about me awwww.

JonnydaJibba 2005-12-02 07:12 AM

I love babes.

Libila 2005-12-04 07:34 PM

I love the sweatshirt design. Back on topic!

I like the colors a lot, and so does Pete.

I like it a lot. Will it come in 2XL? I'm big boned. ;)

sperry 2005-12-05 11:35 PM

Okay, we've picked a sweater (finally) to print on. It's Cardinal Red... which is a pure red, but not too bright.

Logo will be almost as picture above (the blue logos) but there will be some (as yet unfinished) changes to the use of the "SECCS" logo.

Stay tuned for a new thread requesting sizes and quantites so we can place the order for the hoodies.

My goal is to have these things printed up in time for Christmas, but we're way behind schedule, so once the new thread is up, please respond quickly so we can get a sense of the number and sizes we need to order.

Edit: The order thread: http://www.seccs.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3955

Dean 2005-12-06 09:05 AM

Cool. I put it in the order thread, but thought I'd add this here...

Can we pretty please offer the model 12000 (without hood) for the older and/or no-need for a hood crowd?

It shouldn't make any difference in price, in fact it is probably cheaper, and at least in my experiance, it shouldn't make the ordering significantly different.

I'm sure I can't be the only one who would like one SANS HOOD...

sperry 2005-12-06 10:09 AM

Dean, I'll see what we can do. I just don't want to get into a situation where we're selling 30 items, 25 of which have special instructions... but a non-hooded version shouldn't be too much of an issue.

JC 2005-12-06 11:26 AM

Who the hell doesn't like a hood? Does it hit the back of your wheelchair old man?

They suck under a helmet, and/or harnesses, and serve no usefull purpose other than being in the way when you are lounging around the house in the winter with the thermostat down a hair to save a couple bucks.

They are like SUVs that are never taken off-road. People buy them for no reason... If I want a hood, I'll buy a hat thank you very much... :P

That's funny. I wear a hat all the time, and still use a hood to keep my ears warm.

MikeK 2005-12-06 01:17 PM

We need SECCS hats with hoods attached to them, that way we can have the best of both worlds

JC 2005-12-06 01:30 PM

Good idea Mike!

Got mine! Thanks, guys (sperry& nkoan)! Just have to make sure I don't shrink it, it fits just right the way it is now. Teh boobs get in the way, you know.

So I'll be dry cleaning it, just in case.

Glad to hear it made it okay. I couldn't fit the exta padding I was trying to pack the box with (which turned out to be the wrong box, and I got yelled at for using the wrong box, but thats another story completely)

Sorry to hear about the stress over this. Thank you, though, it got here just fine, no padding needed. I wouldn't have even cared if it got soaking wet in the rain. =D

Yeah, really. It's kind of hard to get the right shirt and hoodie sizes, sometimes - especially if you can't try it on first. :D

I didn't think I'd be too hot on red, but the design is so nice, and the red's just right. If it were brighter, I'd say nay, but.. it's perfect!

cody 2005-12-29 08:31 PM

I'm down for a long sleeve T if the price is right...

GC8.Love 2006-01-02 11:07 PM

I'm down for pretty much anything more. There's not enough nice Subie wear as it is..

sti deede 2006-01-03 08:27 AM

Scott I have to say that you out did yourself this time. This it the best hoodie yet! The details came out awesome and the color choices are great.

Thanks so much for all your hard work.

If you run another order I'd like to pick up another large hoodie.

sperry 2006-01-03 04:05 PM

Unfortunately, it's not looking good for doing a second run. Since the printer only holds onto the screens for a few days after printing, he'd have to re-print the screens if we want to do a second run.

In order to make it financially viable for a second run, it looks like we'd need like 30 or more hoodies. I don't think that's very likely... :( Sorry to anyone that got caught out. We'll look into doing some t-shirts in the spring rather than waiting a full year for another batch of hoodies like we normally do.

LetItRev 2006-01-03 04:30 PM

Start a tally.

My wife already took mine for her own so I would be happy to have another.
I think you could get 30 orders prettty quick.

l XL Please if there should be a reorder.
