WTF. There are a million and one pix of fuckin vettes and I didn't see a single one of my car. He got the cars grouped around me, and apparently just hated my white RS enough to skip it. I probably would have bought a shot or two.

Chris, he got a ton of great shots of you.

Nick Koan 2006-05-15 06:51 PM

Kevin M 2006-05-15 06:52 PM

I thought he was only there Sun.

M3n2c3 2006-05-15 09:05 PM

I'm pretty sure he was introduced at the sat. morning drivers' meeting.

Dean 2006-05-15 10:38 PM

By the way, look at your pictures, and look where your head is, and where you are looking. Most of the places he was shooting, your head should be turned quite a bit from straight ahead...

I did notice that! I was kinda proud that in the one pic that was taken of me actually cornering, my head is turned to look ahead of myself, up to the next corner.

Well, yeah... 215 RT615s vs. 205 AVS ES100s. :p

Nick Koan 2006-05-16 08:41 AM

As for the action pics, I e-mailed the guy and he had one picture of my car, but there were some wierd lighting and color effects on the shot, so he didn't post it on the website. He did send me a small copy of the picture and said if I liked it I could buy it, but that he didn't think it was a very good shot. After seeing it, I had to agree, there were a few odd blue lens flares that really prevented the photo from being something I'd really want.

So what was up with that?

Oh Yeah! I forgot to mention!

I went to see Jeremy at Lithia yesterday, and see what the problem is. Had a code stored for the "g-sensor". Basically it tells the ABS controller that the car's inertia has pitched drastically and we're in a panic stop. Well, it wasn't doing this on Saturday. We did an active test on it while we were there, and it was giving off nearly no signal at all, so it's shitted out and needs replacing. The good thing is, it's not too exensive a part altogether even if I did have to pay for it, but Jer said he can prob. get me a new one for free. Yay for me!

Depending on which one it is... I may have a spare as soon as I get my DCCD wired up.

Yeah, the DCCD one is different than the Non-DCCD one, according to one of the older guys around the shop there. Any Non-DCCD, trans tunnel mounted (mine goes under the center console, by the e-brake) sensor should be a match!

sperry 2006-05-16 09:57 AM

Oh and speaking of the pictures...

I can't find a single picture of either Matt's car or Eric's car. And they were both 2 driver cars. There's one sequence of Mike's car, but only with Dave behind the wheel.

IMO, if that guy wants to come out and sell autocross pictures, he needs to be a lot better at taking pictures of all the cars. Maybe he thinks the guys with Vettes are the only people with egos big enough to waste money on pictures.

That's what I got... my stock sensor that's getting replaced by the one for the DCCD.

My only concern is about what happens to my ABS after installing the DCCD... will I need to tap into the DCCD's sensor somehow? Maybe I can't replace that sensor.

I looked though all of the photos and couldn't find any of my car either. I Emailed him. Guess i wasn't going fast enough to make it into a photo. hehehe :)

I know nothing about those G sensors. At ALL! But I wonder if it would be possible for you to use both the DCCD G sensor, and the standerd G sensor for your ABS ? (i'm guessing if that was a good idea, someone would have come up with it long ago) but i'm currious about it now. space issue ? (how big is a G sensor ?)

They're about the size of a standard relay.

The problem is finding a place to mount them all. There are spots to mount the 3 for the DCCD, but one of them is in the spot that my ABS sensor is already installed in.

On the STi, the ABS and DCCD simply share the input from the sensor, but I'm not sure I'll be able to splice the STi sensor into my WRX's ABS properly if the sensors are actually significantly different.

MPREZIV 2006-05-16 12:45 PM

Well, if you ever manage to get that worked out, lemme know, because it sounds like a HUGE headache!
