I think you may be on post 8, but not sure if that is your ride or not, there is also a link there for his other pics on flickr.

I wasn't on course most of the day but what I did get is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/timecon...7600647317461/

I'm still editing and uploading, but I'm nearly done. If I didn't get any of you this time around I'll be out there on Saturday for the first event.

I got a few of a silver STi. Is this you?

Libila 2011-04-25 09:21 AM

Oops, I didn't see a new page of responses.

Yep, I got a few of you Rory. I didn't edit every one I took of you though.

rory_a 2011-04-25 06:21 PM

Thanks Tim - mind if I grab the ones you took of mine? Haven't gotten anything more than a single cell phone pic of it so far, let alone rollers/racing.

Unfortunately, I won't be out at either race this weekend - my mom's birthday is Friday, and we're celebrating it by driving down to Sacramento Saturday morning, back up Sunday afternoon.

Next time though, I should be out there the rest of the season :) not sure if I want to drive out to the Winnemucca event though :(

I'm thinking I need more camber - maybe just some lateral links/bushings? Looks like my damn wheel's about to fall off

Trust us- you want to make the out of town Challenge events! Everybody at the event is staying at the same hotel or two, so the whole weekend is a great social event, that just happens to include some autocross. You won't want to miss it if that can be helped.

cody 2011-04-25 08:58 PM

^That. I'm so glad something was found to replace the Hawthorne North Vs South Challenge!!!

As for camber, I'm a camber bolt guy, myself. :) The H&R bolts are the best quality and can take more torque to avoid slippage than any other camber bolt due to their extra girth, but if I understand Cory right, my car doesn't get anywhere near as much adjustablility with them as compared to Ingalls ones. Still I'm running something like -2 front, -1.8 rear IIRC. I think he said the fronts were maxed out, but I'm happy to have an alignment that, like my car, does it all.

Have at the ones on Flickr. I'll look through my pictures again and see if there are any other good ones. Shoot me a PM with your email address if you don't mind.

The beauty of shooting digital is that I can snap away all damn day, throw out 3/4 of them and still come out with a decent set. Hopefully I'll be able to track down a telephoto lens for this weekend's event. That would make for MUCH better pictures.

szucchet 2011-04-26 10:17 PM

ill be making it up there for the weekend, should be fun hopefully the weather holds up.

sperry 2011-04-28 01:32 PM

So I was thinking that since the out of town events are so much fun, I'd figure out what class my new Outback is in just in case I can get out to WMCA this year.

What's nuts is that the Outback XT doesn't appear to be classified. They list the 6-cylinder legacies and outbacks in DSP, but the turbo appears to fall under Subaru Turbo NOC in FSP. I thought for sure it'd be classed in ESP with the LGT... am I missing something, or is a 350hp (in SP trim) AWD turbo outback wagon really allowed to just go beat the snot out of FSP?

cody 2011-04-28 01:35 PM

Cheater car! :D

Kinda... I mean, it's basically a Legacy GT wagon... or at least that's why I bought it, because you can't get a GT wagon in a 5-speed (plus I actually like the two-tone body cladding).

Who's running in FSP these days?

A1337STI 2011-04-28 02:56 PM

a stock outback wagon goes straight to FSP? interesting ...

It does if you don't want to run in a stock class. Or if you have the suspension bits I plan to put on the car.

Remember when the STi was in ESP? You could take PAX from FSP in a landslide.

Well, I'm pretty rusty... I think it's been more years in a row now that I haven't seriously autocrossed than the number of years that I did.

Plus, I gotta think FSP is not the right class.

Based on the strict interpretation, it's an FSP car for sure. But if you ran it in ESP, which is probably the correct "spirit of the rules" class, nobody would complain. It's like a Legacy GT, especially in SP trim. Certainly BSP would be too high.

Nick Koan 2011-04-28 09:46 PM

If you are not sure of what class to run in, you can always run novice.

The good old days!

MattR 2011-04-30 03:55 PM

Hmmmm... I'm not missing the STI as much as I thought I would after autocross today... :monkey:

Libila 2011-04-30 04:10 PM

Yeah Matt, you were rippin' it.

Good day today, especially for Cody.

Did I hear you ran some kind of ridiculous time? Congrats!

MattR 2011-04-30 06:40 PM

I don't know if it was ridiculous, (haha) but it was good enough for the CS win and 2nd in pax I think. I'm really looking forward to learning the car.

Can I drive your car? ;) Rachel told me when she got home -- "you're in trouble...Matt ran a low 56.... 2nd in pax"...etc. I'm smiling Big, because that was Great News!!

This makes me want to buy an RX8. That, and the amazing feel of that car compared to any Subaru I've driven. Most of you guys heard me raving about Deb's car today. So sharp on turn in, so easy to keep tidy, doesn't step out under power, doesn't push under power, and I am probably still only pushing it 8/10ths in a lot of places, especially slaloms and rapid transitions. When I feel like I've got no development left for the FP wagon, I will have to seriously look into one of these instead of an Evo.

That's nice to read, makes me feel better about driving the RX8 (this long). For me, the grass is greener on the other side, I am coveting awd!

You've been driving the same car (essentially) for 8 years now- I don't think I'll ever be able to keep the same car for half that long. In fact, I haven't run a signle car in back-to-back seasons since my first RS was totalled. If I hang on to the wagon for 3 years, I am sure I'll be looking for something different, whether it's an Evo or one of the better RWD sports cars.

Round 2 results posted.

Apparently the timing laptop ate the round 1 results, so they might be a while.

Van is taking time out from buffing the Bentley to look at the issue now.

MattR 2011-05-28 07:15 PM

Yeah, on the other board Mike's been made aware...unfortunately, that is likely the file that was passed over.

What was your best run Cody?

You're not to be trusted Mike. I can't tell if you're serious or not.

MattR 2011-05-28 07:19 PM

Well, I still have hope that the calculator might save me.

rory_a 2011-05-28 07:42 PM

Second by .12 :( Second to a 240sx with an LS2, I'll take that.

Something came up and I think I'm gonna miss tomorrow. I paid for the full weekend though. Anyone know if there's any chance of getting a refund for tomorrow, or who to contact regarding that?

cody 2011-05-28 07:45 PM

Rory, I'm sure a refund can be had this weekend or at the next event you attend. Maybe txt me tomorrow afternoon so I remember to say something to Tim. He runs reg. now.

I got a clean 42.0xx on my last run today. Thank god cuz I was doing awful before that.

MikeK 2011-05-28 07:57 PM

Results posted for realsies this time.
