Damn! I remember that. I'm officially old. :(

Found it... Starts at about 1:30 in...

If you want some great classic skateboard video, use this search.

Start at the end With Bones Brigade Video Show 1-7 and then Future Primitive 1-10.

Here's an update to the TEAM video of me chasing Dean... it's a better quality capture, covers two+ laps, and has the telemetry overlay.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXjbpgtzlAA

Dean, let me know if you want the full resolution version, I can post it up somewhere if you give me an hour to upload it (60MB NTSC variable bit rate .WMV)

SlickNick112 2007-07-29 06:14 PM

Scott, that looks like so much fun. I can't wait until I get a chance to run a lapping day at Reno-Fernley. I've got to be able to get my timing right with my vacation time and the event schedule.

Nice red steering wheel too.

I only missed a few apexes. That makes me feel good. The wheel drop was a total brain fart, and that makes me feel bad.

I upset the car more than I like in a few places. Have to slow my hands down more. I cheated very few turn ins though which is good.

All watch it again later, but your line through 1 is much better on this video on laps 2-3. Neither of us is as tight as we should be into 2 I don't think.

tysonK 2007-07-29 09:07 PM

this sucks but the car sound effects are funny.

Tyson again proved he is the master of all things musical tonight.

Those of you who autocross should know my friend Sue Orvik in the white WRX wagon/ Blue Miata.

Well, her son, Dan, is the Drummer for "Stars of Track and Field" (SoTaF) and Tyson not only had heard of them, but said he heard their their music I believe locally a couple times a day which is pretty cool. There video is pretty weird, done with a bunch of Circus Side Show performers on break in I believe Florida...

I like their music, especially the new acoustic version of "With You". Probably to old to understand the video. :)

Tyson, I sent Danny an email asking about the origin of the name...

Enjoy:

I heard them a number of times on sirius sat radio (channel 26) Dean. They have a good sound.

I'm much better at remembering names now that they are displayed on my radio.

Yah, who would have thought somebody would take a spill at X Games. :P

As an aside, if that dood with the dreads says, "Boom!" or even worse, "BOOM TOWN!" again, I'm gonna have a conniption.

Okay, let me clarify, I still can't believe he just got up and walked away after a spill like that. :p

wrxkidid 2007-08-05 08:54 PM

i didnt know it was possible to fall that far and walk away.

yes I'm too lazy to gis it.

cody 2007-08-06 07:22 AM

The transition he hit was brutally flat, but it was still a transition...which helped "cushion" his fall. :cringe:

I don't know, from what I saw, he lost hold of them more than he had them in his hands doing any good.

Wild though.

Nick Koan 2007-08-06 01:37 PM

Just like racing, its all about setup. Once you're in it, you're in it and there ain't much you can do. So, if the guide loses the oar mid-rapid, its not really the end of the world.

wrxkidid 2007-08-06 01:42 PM

nicks right the entry is the most important part. some rapids have mid-rapid moves that can make or break you as well but for the most part the paddle team does 95% of the work and the guid just hangs on.

Looks to me like, once you're in it, physics does 95% of the work... and prayer does the other 5%.

Dean 2007-08-06 02:20 PM
