Why not?

The official story is that it was to celebrate the 10th year of the Espace and the 1994 Williams-Renault F1 Constructors Championship. I think some smooth talking engineer just got upper management really drunk and convinced them it was a good idea to sink money into (with no hope of return for any of it).

Can anybody find that video with the mountain biker riding the rail around a pier? YouTube and Google are failing me. Any truly insane bike stunts with altitude will do actually. Not jumping off cliffs, riding near them sort of thing.

Check this site Mr. Dean. I'll take a look for some more edge of the cliff stuff for ya.

Um, unless I am blind, I saw a cartoon, and a fake cop chase... Not quite what I was looking for.

Ok I can't let you down Dean. Check out this link with IMBA. Comfortably Numb video has some technical stuff without crashing and the link has many more videos with riding not crashing. Let me know if this helps. Better yet is the video A River Runs Through It (all on the edge technical stuff) D-

Not really what I am looking for. What I'm looking for is more along the lines of "trials" type stuff. Hopping from boulder to boulder, or the specific video that I swore was in this thread but can't find is a guy riding a railing down a set of stairs, around a pier over the water.

Joeyy 2007-02-12 09:40 PM

Ok, trials it is. Go to Yahoo video and type Trials Comp Videos and you'll get all the stuff you need. Also go for Hans Rey he is the God Father of trials riding. Here is one link.

Windows Media Player doesn't like that link...says I need a codec.

But yah, trials is the shizzy...much more impressive than "daredevil" stunts.

*goes to search on Hans Rey*

Thanks for the help..

I found what I was looking for. Kris Holm and it is a freaking unicycle...

I think Williams said it himself after riding along in it - "now I understand a little bit, what it must be like to drive a Grand Prix car." It was probably his little pet project so he could have some fun and get a ride along. My understanding is he only actually drove any race cars briefly back in the 50's & 60's.

Yeah, but there are already 2 seater F1 cars specifically for that purpose. And that econ-box w/ an F1 drivetrain is nowhere near F1 in terms of handling...

Just for you Bobby, an 86 beating a STi.

Dude, that's Tsuchiya driving his favorite car in what's pretty much his own back yard. Plus the 86 weighs like 1000lbs less than the STi. I would say it's impressive that the Subaru was anywhere near him at all!

Really, that race is like saying "lets watch a panther (86) fight a shark (STi)... in the Home Depot parking lot". Sure the shark is a fierce predator, but it's not all that dangerous to the panther when it's writhing around on hot blacktop.

Libila 2007-02-16 12:29 PM

I know, but Bobby needs to see that it's possible...

If the odds are so far in favor of his old lunchbox with wheels that it's practically a guarantee.

Today on my way to pick up lunch, some guest DJ on Sirius was spinning a remix of Eddie Murphy's single attempt at a music career. And now I have the worst song ever stuck in my head:

Wow. I can't believe I was stupid enough to click that link, even after your description.

Now I too am going to have that awful song stuck in my head.
