Okay, never mind! I was going to say, "My hood scoop didn't fly off when I topped my STi out" but I was about thirty-something miles per hour shy of what they were doing.

I've seen enough reaction videos to know that I never want to see 2g1c. You can't unwatch something like that.

For serious. I don't think I even want to watch someone react in real life.

This is for the die hard metal fans....I warn you though Cory may not even like it, its a demonstration of superb lyrics in metal. They can be a bit hard to distinguish due to the way they break up some syllables and the outrageously deep growls...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=b_XXLPn5-y8

Furtive Monologue

This in audible voice has flattered my ears
An unreal sound of distress, a sensation that aroused my being
This moment was all yours but the pleasure was all mine
All the weight I've been carrying vanished for a valuable instant

One day when this curtain will fall
Masks will be shattered

Your eyes silently scream astonishing grief
The satisfaction I devour is not retribution
Your sorrow's my devotion
I'll be rewarded with your degradation
Nourished by bitter passions,
My hunger for human deprivation will be quenched
No retribution
Your sorrow's my devotion

A furtive monologue

This unspoiled opus wasn't meant to persist eternally
Masks and disguises returned to their relevant closets
This theatrical masquerade will be lead
to its irrevocable ending

One day or another,
One day when this curtain will fall
Masks will be shattered

wrxkidid 2007-11-29 10:31 PM

Those low screams are unreal. I didn't know a human could produce sound that low.

Forgotten 2007-11-30 03:41 AM

Tim and I were hardcore fans. I'm not as much anymore, and I can't really speak for Tim. Our friend Logan is to be able to easily sing like that. I even met Dayofpain at a hardcore show a couple years ago.

MPREZIV 2007-11-30 08:10 AM

Good lyrics, real together instrumentation. The pace of the singer throws me off a bit tho; it's hard to follow, even with the lyrics right in front of me!

Libila 2007-11-30 08:26 AM

I still like some hardcore, but I won't lie, I listen to the melodic stuff. I just can't get in to bands with bad-sounding vocals, crazy BPMs and songs written around break downs.

Since this is a video thread...

Nick Koan 2007-11-30 10:09 AM

Me, I just can't stand most metal vocalists.

But I love me the instrumental stuff.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=MhSQUN5gQuk

Though, I do like Mike Patton. He's probably about the only vocalist of any genre that I would say I like. IMO, he doesn't get in the way of the music like most do.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbBwFdKDaKw

cody 2007-11-30 10:57 AM

+1 for Mike Patton. Somehow you can always understand him even when he's screaming. He was a little bitch when I saw Mr. Bungle at Slims like 10 years ago though.

MPREZIV 2007-11-30 10:57 AM

Oh yeah, speaking of vocalists, here's the really "soft" Stone Sour song I was talking about last night, from their first big album. Same lead singer as Slipknot.

100_Percent_Juice 2007-11-30 11:21 AM

Nick, if you like the complex guitar and drum side of metal you should check out Sleep Terror
http://youtube.com/watch?v=7qhpBI4XoUs&feature=related

Pete, I wish Logan and the guys never broke up, or at least not so quickly. They were sooo good when they opened for Misery Signals.

Libila 2007-11-30 01:41 PM

Both the guitarist and drummer of Sleep Terror are extremely talented. Here's a video of just the drummer-

Nick Koan 2007-11-30 01:43 PM

That stuff sounds awesome. It reminds me of this local (where I went to college) band called Idiot Savant that I used to see a bit.

But then they got a singer and ruined it all when they moved to LA.

Seriously. They never even made a CD, but that was actually the best Reno show I've ever been too.

CD's are a material object.

Albums, Ep's are a performance of Art.

Sorry just bothers the hell of out me.

An "Album" and an "EP" are exactly the same thing as a "CD"...

EP stands for "Extended Play", which is a specific format of vinyl record with a shorter play time than an LP (Long Play). It's just as much a material object as a CD is.

And if you really want to get crazy about it, an "album" is literally a collection of records that come together in a folder, at least that's what the term started as in the early 1900's. Though it's come to be a way to reference a collection of songs without regards to the specific recording technology, it does in fact refer to the songs in terms of a recording for public distribution, and is not actually a generic term for "a group of songs that are together a performance of art". i.e. "album" means "songs on a cd, or cassette, or vinyl record, or 8-track, or mp3, etc". An album does not exist without a recording medium, and therefor Pete's statement of "They never even made a CD" is equivalent to "Then never even made an album" with the exception that Pete was being specific about the target medium of the album.

:P

When someone says album they mean music for sure you don't need a "target medium". "They never made a CD" does not equal they "never made an album" to me. That's why it bothers me hence my post.

A CD has all kinds of crap on it music, software, pictures.

Man. Scott making fun and defending me in the same day. And they made an album, but I can't play vinyl. I wish they made a CD though.

Pete, I've got one horribly recorded mp3 of theirs. I'll send it to you.
