I am sure that his fear of chiming in is well founded.

100_Percent_Juice 2009-02-12 07:13 PM

I have tonight free! However, I refuse to roll up in a saturn.

Dean's been rolling up in a Audi, I'm thinking you're up on him. Depending on the Saturn vintage.

Oh, and moose, no big deal man, I was just messing with you in the other thread.....

zpeed 2009-02-13 08:46 PM

ve been to the meeting a few time. I don't even have a suby. Sometime I showed up in my SUV. It's people that count.

WTF?
At least the A4 is AWD and turbocharged...

The LGT would likely not exist in it's recent incarnation if it had not been for the success of the B5 Audis that defined that segment and saved Audi in the U.S.

And unless it has those shopping cart proof plastic body panels, that A4 is way cooler than a Saturn. ;)

zpeed 2009-02-15 09:14 AM

My SUV have Japanese 4WD.

ARORA_808 2009-02-15 04:56 PM

Subaru probably wouldn't even be around if it wasn't for Audi.....in the 80's when everybody was running around in their brat's trying to look cool, Audi was setting the foundation for the world rally circuits, do a little research and be surprised.....Saturns are POS plastic cars and could never be compared to a real "world" class car........(S)omebodies (a)ttempt (T)o (U)tilize (R)ecycling (N)etwork !!!!!!!!

100_Percent_Juice 2009-02-15 05:10 PM

My saturn gets me from A to groceries just as (legally) fast as anyone else. It will also last just as long if not longer than an audi at a fraction of the cost to maintain. It will be running long after I am dead... *picture opening scene of Terminator with a T1000 driving a Saturn over human skulls.*

ARORA_808 2009-02-15 05:22 PM

Thats because YOUR saturn is basically a Honda underneath, Honda V6/I4, Honda tranny/drivetrain and most of the electronics too.....the cars are POS and their styling looks like ass, the Ion redline....WTF was somebody thinking, there is no symmetry in the design of that car, the SUV's....not too bad....The Audi isn't that expensive to maintain....it's just getting to the stuff......now that part is a bitch, turbo's=remove engine to replace, starter=might as well remove engine to replace, timing belt=removing front of the car, yeah maybe it is a PITA, but when it runs good it is awesome and its locked front, rear and mechanical in the middle.

ARORA_808 2009-02-15 05:35 PM

Oh,really....I have never seen a saturn with 300k on it, as for Audi.....look anywhere you want (i.e. audizine, audiworld & various others) there are mileage posts in excess of 300k and still going...there are a couple of people locally the have older S4's the have been boosted to 20-25 psi for years (one I know of since 1994 @ 25 psi and can still pull on a modded Sti.... my old one) and the old 4000's....shit those things could've been driven to the moon and back.....I have plenty of horror stories from the saturn's, as I used to work for a GM/Saturn stealership, and I have a friend that for "some" reason....likes to modify them and he is/was constantly changing engines....his old work looks like a foundry for saturn blocks !!!!!

100_Percent_Juice 2009-02-15 06:11 PM

I'm not the one who started this debate. I don't feel that saturn is better than audi, that would be absurd. The main reason I bought the VUE was because of the honda 3.5l engine. I love it but the car interior is total garbage. That is to be expected though since they are so cheap. I was not about to buy a nice SUV and have my two kids beat the crap out of it.

zpeed 2009-02-15 06:26 PM

whoa cool down!!!!

MattR 2009-02-15 06:34 PM

Scotty's the one that made the ridiculous comment that a Saturn is better than any type of car..(Which it isn't) I blame Saturn for everything that is wrong in this world.

The Astra is a good looking car, even though it's a Vauxhall.

I thought the Astra was an Opal, the Vauxhal version was the Speedster? I'm posting from my iPod so I'm not gonna bother to look it up or fix my spelling mistakes.

All Vauxhalls are Opels, the Vauxhall version of the Speedster was the VX220. The Astra is that hot little hatchback...

The fallout was pretty funny, I admit. Don't you guys remember back when Saturn first came out, they were hyped as the end result of 100 years of auto manufacturing? Admit it, every woman in your life wanted one, unless they were driving a Mercedes, or a Beemer, or an.........Audi. Dang.

Emboyoyo 2009-02-19 09:20 AM

I'm ACTUALLY going to make it to the meet tonight!! Haven't been since Cory's birthday haha!

Dean 2009-02-19 09:23 AM

I'll be there, with injectors if Justin wants them... Hint Hint to anybody who knows how to contact him...

I'll have TGVs as well if he is interested or wants to take a look.

Aw man, last week was the meet that all the people that don't show up any more showed up to.

I'm going to try and make it again this week again too.

MattR 2009-02-19 04:10 PM

I made my meet for the month. Actually, I really enjoyed it, but getting off work at 5 and waiting around until 7 sucks for me. It didn't used to be an issue when I lived close to the meet location..but not anymore.

What's your secret for getting off work at 5?

...I'd be happy to get outta here by 9pm most nights.
