Whoa, I hadn't even noticed how much he wanted. The GC8 ones go for $150-175 used. Try offering him like $200 and see if he bites. They really are a sweet mod for your car, they are very hard to find (kinda like gold RS wheels...).

ScottyS 2004-09-08 08:52 PM

Hey --- got a Factory Gauge Pack from allsubaru for $160, and installed it this evening. A snap, and quite cool. Not a bad improvement at all!

Now I just need to schedule in the timingbelt/mainseals/water pump/drive belt day....

Kevin M 2004-09-09 01:10 PM

Scotty, you should go offer Moss on nsaioc something cheap for his wagon JDM tails. He's really getting desperate to sell them. I would bet he'd take $150-175 at this point. That's less than the coupe/sedan tails cost.

.......must resist........going too far........down.......the cosmetic road......need.......better seats........first..............

I know I sound crazy, but I must've really missed the bulletin on the whole "clear corners" thing. The crystal headlights are the ones that seem to make the most sense. Sure, with "budget no problem" that's a great pickup. I just can't justify it yet. Now, in a few years when I'm assembling parts for a drive train swap I'll be kicking myself, "why didn't I get those GF tails? All the existing sets are in museums!"

All that said, I will still kick in some $$ and 50BMG ammo towards Brandon's real JDMs....

Is he really getting some tails soon? Good. I say we do one Altezza with a 50, and the other with like all of us on AR's, 12ga's, and anything else with a high rate of fire from about 30ft.

Heehee, he went from $150 + shipping to $180 shipped in a couple hours. I thought prices were supposed to go the other way? Apparently I was supposed to offer MORE than his asking price. Funny stuff.

Picked up some '02 WRX seats from Tyson --- holy cow did they feel different! Just looking at the two sets, it was had to see any practical difference other than WRX = quality, L = junk (maybe the ~83,000 miles difference showed a bit too). However, as soon as installing them (dropped right in), the change in fit was amazing! Sweet! Thanks Tyson! These really do fit thinner folks well! :D :D :D

MattR 2004-10-07 07:51 AM

Yeah, I've always like the WRX seats a lot...they are comfortable...They fit non-skinny people well too

Are you coming to the meet tonight, I'd like to see how they look in your car..

Doesn't look like we'll make it, as we'll be in G-Ville around 7pm. I usually see several interesting Suby's during the Thursday-night drive south on 395, and wonder how many are going to the meet....

Exactly how late do people usually hang out at the meet? The one time I stuck around 'til late, it went to 10pm or so. Does that still happen when it's so cold? If we get back to town by 10pm I'll swing by to see...

RE: seats --- they really don't look too bad --- I have black accents in the interior already, and the blue is really dark, so I think it'll do.

tysonK 2004-10-07 09:59 PM

They are 03 WRX Seats!

Yah I'm glad they are working out for you, they are practically brand new!

  Heh. Heh. Oops. Anyhow, when my wife calls me at work to tell me how much she likes the seats just when driving to the grocery store, I figure they're good! I know I love them! Thanks again, Tyson!

ScottyS 2005-05-13 09:09 PM

Update! Yeah!

Got a factory Keyless Entry + Security Upgrade from a fella on I-Club for $75. Installed it this afternoon (took like 3+ hours, with a little soldering invoved), and it works great. I need to take new pictures.

Evo Mike 2005-05-13 09:39 PM

well just FYI, i have a wrx brake set, which INCLUDES all of the things you say u want (rotors, SS brake lines, and 4 piston calipers goign for 400$...) might even let it go for cheaper.. like 375? a steal if you ask me.

they fit under the stock 15 inch wheels too!

haha nice mod list

ScottyS 2005-05-13 09:42 PM

Whoops! I guess I should say that I've got the calipers, pads, brackets, and rotors for the front ready to go. Just waiting for some spare install time....

Evo Mike 2005-05-13 11:42 PM

my bad, i didn't read the posts very well.. just kinda skimmed through em.

ScottyS 2005-08-16 10:51 AM

Put on the WRX front brakes --- whoo-hoo! Using the WRX calipers, brackets and rotors, they dropped right on. Easy. Put the ATE fluid in and bled through all four corners as well.

It turned out that the red 95 Legacy's front calipers were in serious need of a rebuild and not functioning properly, so I took the Impreza's stock calipers and rotors and bolted them on --- same size even. Gave it some ATE 200 as well. Some new pads rounded out the swap.

Two front brake swaps plus full bleeding in one day was fun!
