Ahh yes, nothing floats my valves better than an 8000 rpm redline.

The baseline was the stock turbo. So it is a combination of the turbo and the front mount. But that brings up a good point. I should get one plotted with the new turbo without the front mount. I honestly don't notice the lag from the FMIC, but did notice the torque change when the new turbo was installed.

The red torque curve is the turboback, intake, headers and reflash only.

On a related note ... so much for the slowboy turbos having a super early spool

It's the GT30-10 w/ the super early spool. This is the GT30-12 big horsepower turbo w/ a later spool, IIRC.

Agreed. What I really like about the torque curve and the butt dyno is that it is much smoother that the vf39. I'm still getting used to the 1200-1400 rpm difference, but so far I really like it. Driveablity around town is just like stock. On the highway..........well you'll see.

I'm pretty sure the early torq loss is due to the bigger turbo. my max torq went from like 3000 rpm's to 5000 rpm's hahahaha..

yeah it would kinda be bad for autocross.. but oh well.. can't always have everything..

You know it makes the same torque at the same rpm as a stock sti. Then it just climbs another 120 #' from there to redline. So it may not be that bad for autocross, especially if Mike K drives it!

Wait... boost threshold for the GT30-12 is the same as Mike's stock car? o_0

I was referring to the torque curve on the dyno. The GT30-12 produces around 210#' of torque under 4000 rpm which is the same for a stock STI's max. boost.

Does that make sense? I'm fryed at work and our HP 1055CM plotter is failing in the middle of a huge job!

Not at the moment, but when we get swamped we sometimes contract some of the drafting out. You should PM me all your info/skills etc.

Nick
