Where's Wild Water Parking Lot?

Kevin M 2006-10-21 10:36 PM

The Chevron on Vista Blvd works much better as a renezvous point for eastbound treks.

zpeed 2006-10-22 04:26 PM

I don't care when and where is it someone decide. See you all at 9:00.

cody 2006-10-22 09:12 PM

Okay, I'll be at the Chrevron on Vista before 8:45. Leaving at 9 is cutting it kinda close.

Today was a real kick in the pants. Nice meeting you Nat and Nick.

cody 2006-10-23 10:01 PM

Unfortunately the stipped down Silver STi's motor seized. The owner said he thought the oil might have been low. :( Wierd thing is he told me earlier that his motor doesn't consume a drop. :?:

I hear the Volvo has a V8.

The Evo was sick. Dude said it puts down 400whp on pump gas.

My car felt great. :)

zpeed 2006-10-23 11:25 PM

That Volvo has about 640 whp an do 10 in 1/4 mile. I have a blast. Need to out some more. Auto-x won't cut it now I need a real track time.

zpeed 2006-10-23 11:26 PM

Nice meeting both of you too. Cody where is a picture of my car? j/k..

You've got to be kidding me with that air filter...

MattR 2006-10-24 05:54 AM

That Filter is retarded... Talk about a lot of effort for nothing. It looks like the car that came to trials and had overheating problems.

Anyway, what configuration did you guys run?

cody 2006-10-24 07:14 AM

We ran B config...the whole outside. :)

Sorry I didn't get a pic of your S2000 or your son's STi Nat (I hope I'm getting your name right).

The guy with the intake is the one who lost his motor. I forget the brand, but he said his suspension alone was 8 grand. Each corner had a little cylinder he was putting compressed air into. The car looked like hell but was the bees knees according to him.

I also wish I had got some pics of C&C's "Grand Am" that was out there for a shake down. It sounded incredible but blew 3rd gear at some point. Rusty didn't seem disapointed though. They have another tranny back at the shop ready to go in.

Also there was an amazing Porsche with a huge wing that was eating up everyone including the 400whp Evo on the track. It sounded like all of hell's fury.

MattR 2006-10-24 07:26 AM

Yeah, that guy in the Sti spends a lot of $$$ to go slow. Bummer about his motor though.

Anyway, course B is my favorite. Sweet.

cody 2006-10-24 07:28 AM

My first time at RFR, the new section wasn't open yet. That hill climb is insanity. The blind off camber turns are unnerving the first time you go through that section without sombody in front of you...

It's a great feeling when you get the line fairly well just from memory though.

dknv 2006-10-24 07:29 AM

Any word on when this news story is going to air?
(and is one of these pics of Team PFR's latest addition?)

cody 2006-10-24 07:34 AM

I didn't even see Pat out there. He may have been there, but I don't think so.

And I'm not sure about when the news story will air either. But you could call Mike and ask. His number is in a quote in one of the earlier posts. :)

Pat R. 2006-10-24 07:54 AM

I was there but didn't go out on track.

zpeed 2006-10-24 07:56 AM

That white Porsche belong to Duck. He work at sporthaus. He got 3.6 L turbo engine in it. I sat with him at the VC Hillclimb once but not with that engine.

NstyNik 2006-10-24 09:11 AM

Ya for my first time out i had a blast! It was way too much fun to not go again. There were a lot of nice cars and freindly people. Learned a lot about my car and my driving, and am excited for more.

By the way any pics of my car out there? And yes that EVO was f*cking SICK. Bummer about dude's STI. It had much potential!

cody 2006-10-24 09:14 AM

Hey Nick, it seems some of the pics I attempted to upload are missing, including one of your car. I'll try again tonight.

Just wait till you get on the track with some sticky tires and a good alignment.

NstyNik 2006-10-24 09:21 AM

Thanks. Yes, thats the next thing on my list! It was an awesome time. Thanks again for the info and the tips. Untill next time...

Yeah, that Volvo has been out to auto-x at least once. The thing is mean, but I thought it looked more like a drag car then anything else.

And that filter on the silver STi is just retarded. Did his motor sieze due to excessive dust?

If it's the same guy that was out there a while back, the motor siezed because the owner didn't take proper care of it. Last time he was out there he was overheating it left and right, but instead of coming off track and letting it cool, he'd just keep driving 'till it was spewing coolant, then bitch about how crappy the tuning was that it was overheating. Nevermind that it was 115 deg out.

cody 2006-10-24 09:53 AM

He has just installed a Koyo radiator.

It was wierd because he was giving his car an alignment after the first run, but according to him, oil strarvation was the culprit.

He came over to Nick and I and was like, "Stupid Subarus!".

MattR 2006-10-24 09:59 AM

That guy in general =

cody 2006-10-24 10:00 AM

Oh, I have my EGT gauge set to turn the threshold light on at 1575*F. It rarely reaches 1550 normally. Cruising on the freeway is 1450 most of the time.

Yesterday the light came on for the first time ever and the needle just kissed 1600.

I have the probe mounted in the casting button on the passeger side manifold. Cause for concern?
