Don't fret, 50% chance of "rain" on Saturday.

ha. i figure ill get out there 715 or 730 with 40 psi in my tires like kevin said. just take the stead exit and turn right and follow it till you see the airport right?

I'm Mad, my cousin is coming up to run from the bay area in his Boxster S and I can't go. My wife is working for the company doing the tax and she have to work this Sat (last week before the Tax due date). I have to watch the kids. Unless they let me run my minivan in the course with my kids in car seats with helmets. :)

I will stop by and see your guys.

Have fun

Yup. Drive slow though please. :)

Found this with a quick search too:

Stead Airport -- Stead is located just North of Reno
1: From the Interstate 80 and US 395 junction, take US 395 north from Reno (towards Susanville.)
2: Take the Stead Blvd. exit and turn right (East).
3: Continue on Stead Blvd. all the way into the airport. At the "Y" intersection, remain in the right lane.
4: Once through the airport gates, turn left at Alpha and immediately right on Petriciani.
5: Proceed to the grandstand area to park and register.

Who else is pumped!!? I'm all set except I still need to make my number and badge magnets. What about the Subaru badge on the front grill? Do I have to cut that out of the stock grill and glue it to my aftermarket grill?

Nick Koan 2007-04-13 07:59 AM

Doesn't an aftermarket grill put you in street mod?

Opps! It sure does!:D

cody 2007-04-13 08:03 AM

Oh yah, I was wondering about that...and then forgot.

cody 2007-04-13 08:04 AM

Doh! I guess I'll put the old one back on. :(

Yeah, I probably wouldn't have protested because I think its kind of a stupid rule. But you never know about that shady Derrick character. He might.

cody 2007-04-13 08:14 AM

 I might just skip the whole badges/grill thing and run ESP despite the rules. Even if by some miracle I actually won and then got challenged...oh well.

NevadaSTi 2007-04-13 08:24 AM

Once I start running ESP, you might have to make sure you are up to spec on the rules. Butt then again, an aftermarket grill bumps you into street mod????? That's about the most stupid thing I have ever heard of in my life.

Well, maybe the ex-wife saying she still loves me, either way, its pretty stupid.

cody 2007-04-13 08:27 AM

You would be in BSP I think. Could you still protest me?

cody 2007-04-13 08:28 AM

IB Cory tells me to man-up and run SM. :P

Aw ok.

Mustangs can go to hell! :P

sperry 2007-04-13 08:36 AM

Because of PAX, anyone can protest anyone else regardless of class.

Good thing you will be following me in with a slower time!!

MikeK 2007-04-13 08:45 AM

I might protest Cory into SM just to have a funny story to tell people.

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-13 08:48 AM

I think it's silly that cosmetic changes that don't affect performance bump you up a class. Maybe because I'm a newbie to autox there is something I don't understand, but it seems pointless.

A grill can affect performance though. Maybe its not noticeable on Subarus, but on other cars it can be. Increasing air flow, redirecting air flow, weight reduction, etc. These are all things that national level competitors worry about. When races come down to hundredths of a second, every little bit becomes important.

That's my point exactly, I'll be driving a Mustang, and you will still be slower. I'll get a sticker that says, "You just got beat by an old school Mustang!"
