No need to apologize, I wish more people would buy Evo's. I really like them too. I think they are a good deal ( in most cases :? ), and they are extremely easy to build into a super car. Besides, everyone that buys an STI becomes a grumpy elitist like me and Mike 8) and thats no way to be, we want to be special...BUY AN EVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is 1500 for rims crazy overpriced?

whats the spending limit on rims before you look lame?

Eventually my SSR wheels will be dedicated race wheels, so the lightness I payed for them will be more worth it to me then.

Everyone notices the SUV's rolling on 20's nowadays I mean like every other Explorer and Denali and (insert lame name here )has a set of $3,000 rims.

It makes the import scene look like flea market rim shoppin.

Edit: You guys do a lot of posting during the day. don't you have to work.

Hey, if they're lightweight and for racing more power to ya, you're putting them to good use. Otherwise it's all about looks(which like you said aren't even that special anymore since everyone has bling-bling rims), and I don't see the point.. to someone like me with not much money to keep racing on these days, that's just a big waste. You know me, I'm all about go and not show.

However, they stripped a lot out of that car... like A/C... unless I was buying it specifically for a race conversion, then it's not worth it. In fact, I could buy an older, lighter EVO from overseas for cheaper and have a better race car when all is said and done, right?

That said, it's still a sick car, people are thinking it'll be an AS autocross killer... hehe, sorry Matt! I'm glad we're getting these more race specific models in the States, a lot of people are speculating Subaru might follow suit with a real deal STi Type RA Spec C, instead of the half breed Spec C that we got. Personally, I wouldn't want a Spec C myself, but it'd be cool if it were an option!
