Haha, wow, California High, what a name.

My school basically ripped off Cal Berkeley... they're the Bears, we were the Grizzlies... our band played the Cal fight song at football games, etc. Instead of Blue and Gold, we were Black and Orange. |
Black and orange are the worst school colors ever! Me being from Carson, you know why!

Oh hahahaha damn well that takes away most of the funny. Douglas High's colors are black and orange. They were our biggest rivals. I dunno bout the rest of the sports, but they never beat us in hockey. But they were always fun games. There has even been vandalism by both sides against eachothers schools. I think they spray painted our track and some sluts from our school spray painted a ton of their walls. Pretty dumb.

You guys had hockey? Damn. I went to STHS. What is funny is our middle school up there. South Tahoe Middle School - Trojans. YEHAA, named after a damn condom!
|
Roller Hockey. But several of us on the Galena team played Ice hockey together too.
|
Back on topic.
There is a better chance of having seating this week? |

Matt you play/ed hockey? That's awesome. I play both but the closest ice rink is Tahoe so I don't play ice that much. During my 4 years playing for the school we only lost once in the high school league, to Reed. But I think that's because we didn't want get the Aids. |
AIDS? Really Jonny?
Ok, I admit it, I laughed. |
The rumor when I was in hikes school that they had the highest percentage of kids with Aids in the area. And I didn't just hear this from Carson kids, it was from a lot of people. Of course it could have been one kid or even 20 kids that somebody found out had it, and it just got "telephoned" to a lot more or something.
|
Well unless you were having buttseks with the other team...
edit: lol @ buttseks on ice |

Thanks... Fort Hunt High School class of... '84. Hell, that place has been closed down for 20 years. Well, converted to a middle school. Virginia Tech ME class of '88 too. :( |
I still try to play as much as possible. Luckily the leagues are always hurting for goalies so I get to play a lot.
Sorry for offtopixing the thread! Here, I think I will actually get the wings this time. |
I played hockey for a couple years in HS. Pretty good skater but I rarely touch a puck anywore.
Wings? This thread's about wings? |
I am going to try to make the meet agin this week. I won't have the car though, it's gonna stay on its race tires for a while.
|

Any bets on the reservation tonight?
|
i think we'll b ok
|
OK, I'm not impressed. Prices are no better than Bully's and we are eating out of paper baskets.
And no simple way to plug in WRC footage. |

The wings place is making an effort to keep our business, and unless everyone wants to go back to Bully's I think we stick it out there until we find somewhere else that's better. |

Closer to you maybe. I am just voting to go back to Bully's. |

The food at BWW isn't "better" than Bully's, in fact I'm not all that impressed... but I've only eaten at BWW three times ever, compared to the HUNDREDS of times I've eaten at Bully's. I fully expect people to tire of BWW quickly. Same deal over at Joe Bob's. But I'm not interested in going back to Bully's. We've been over there way too long. And yes, this place is closer "for me", but also for the Carson folks, and the bunch of people that live on the south end of town. After two years of trekking up to Robb, I don't think it's too much to ask to try to find a place in the south for a while. So, instead of arguing about what's better between two places that aren't good enough, how about trying to find somewhere else? What about Tamarak? They've got a back room, but it would probably cost us money to rent. But they also host a lot of meetings, so they probably have their shit together as far as handling a group. The sports bar there has TV's and pretty good bar food (their pizza rocks), but I think you can also order off the restaurant's menu IIRC. Is anyone interested in finding out if they'd be willing to host us in the sports bar area Thursday nights? |
I'd be interested in Tamarack.
|
The only thing that draws me back to Bully's is the bacon.
|
I'm down to try anyplace that is a reasonable suggestion. I don't have many myself, simply because I don't frequent the "sports bar" scene, that would be a good place for our meet.
|
I remember suggesting the Tamrack, but I think we were worried about issues with the minors in the group. We should check to see if it'd be an issue or not.
