I give GTA4 a 9.5.

100_Percent_Juice 2008-04-30 08:26 AM

^I agree.

Just got GTA 4 last night and could not stop playing. I don't know about a 10out of 10 rating though. It is a good game, but not perfect. I have yet to see a "perfect" game though

The bank heist job straight outta Heat in GTA4 is awesome.

Now I wanna play... that's possibly the best action movie ever.

JonnydaJibba 2008-05-06 08:37 AM

I know I'm not old by any stretch, but playing that mission made me very nostalgic. Duffel bags full of money on our backs, M4s and AKs in hand, running through the streets blasting barrel fulls of cops and cop cars, all the while wearing suits, ties and ski masks. Oh geez it was glorious. When driving the getaway vehicle I contemplated killing us all so I could save the game before that mission so I would be able to do it whenever I want.

Kevin M 2008-05-06 11:34 AM

You fail for not doing so.

I'm not impressed with GTA 4. I didn't think it was possible to make it any more repetitive than the previous GTA but some how they did.

Are you implying that stealing cars, banging hookers, and shooting drug dealers can get old?

I don't know what YOU did with your college years, but I can tell you, yes, it gets old.

Finally a post on the internets that actually made me laugh today.

I enjoy killing hookers just as much as the next guy, but after so many you just have to ask yourself, Why am I wasting my time.

Pfft. . . I never even once had to ask myself that.

But Bob, you could apply that to any game really.

Ace Combat 6: Fly around a shoot planes.
Forza 2: Drive in circles (big wavy misshapen circles)
ANY FIRST PERSON SHOOTER EVER: Shoot people mostly.

I could go on and on, but it's the way that the game comes together between racing or shooting or killing hookers that makes it a bad or good game. IMO, Ace Combat is one of the most boring games out there. It's neat to look at though.

If you knew what you were going to expect and didn't like San Andreas that much (BTW you still have my copy, I still have Orgasmo), you shoulda saved yourself that $60.

I haven't gotten there yet, but if it is like Heat it should be very fun. I'm really glad I bought this game, I'm not feeling well, and this or any new game is the ticket to entertainment when ill.

Kunikos 2008-05-27 09:53 AM

I picked up a Wii recently and got Zack and Wiki and Wii Fit. However, I'm lacking in motivation to play any of it. I'm an odd duck.

I may be getting a buddy key for Age of Conan as soon as they turn on the program for it. I want to try it before I buy it since the loot system sounds kinda disappointing, and I'm not terribly keen on paying monthly again for a game.

DirtySTI 2008-05-27 06:45 PM

The best thing about GTAIV is watching your friend build up a roadblock in an online multiplayer race, only to get shot by the race leader as he barrels through. Otherwise, it's just more of the same ol' same ol'.

I'm really enjoying Mass Effect on the PC. I have a slightly older machine and once I figured out how to configure it to run at a decent speed things have been good. I sometimes forget to shut off uTorrent, so I'll get the occasional hard drive burp but that's about it.

I'm about 3/4 through the game now, and I gotta say that the lack of a sorting function for the inventory is pretty ass. Other than that, though, the voice acting is very good and the plot is above average in most cases (and average in others, such as side quests).

So that spore creature creator thing is out. I screwed with the free trial version. It's kinda fun in a Sims sorta way, but becomes uninteresting quickly. I wanna make 'em fight each other.

Here's the Sexpedial Doink and the Purple Wangdabular.

The last couple hours are pretty killer. You end up wondering why most movies aren't as good.

I just finished my second time through to pick up a few more achievements, and it was just as much fun to play/watch as the first time - often more so because I was re-using my original character and had some pretty beefy stats. :P

JonnydaJibba 2008-06-18 08:08 AM

Ninja Gaiden 2 is awesome and retarded hard. But I love it. Takes me back to the days of Mega Man. I just got the achievement for choosing to continue 100 times.
