That doesn't sound right. Sounds like something feeding the cold idle circuit is messed up. Did it only happen once, or has it happened on cold mornings. If the later, probably dump it at Lithia tonight so they can try it in the morning when it will be in the single digits again. We can probably hook you up with a ride if you need it.

Tumbler Valve...I'm now an expert.

It has happen before on the cold mornings, but never this drastic. Usually it only moves 250 rpms from the 1000 mark. It also took extra long before the engine finally started up this morning. I'm not sure if its just me being paranoid or if it is a problem.

Your not serious right? It didn't operate in a safety mode and the check engine light didn't come on. I hope its not that.

My car was a bit hard to start this morning too, and that was at almost 9. It just takes a few extra cranks to kick it over when everything's so cold. The idle thing is weird. Is it fluctuating or just starting high and falling slowly? It will take a while to get the coolant temp up enough that the IAC isn't raising idle anymore.

The rises and falls pretty quickly like it is being rev'd. It stopped doing it, before the engine temp. guage showed the temp rising. Although, I'm not sure if this matters with what you are saying.

Whatever it is, you know it is going to be super cold the next day or two, so get it to the mechanics so they can figure it out before it warms up!

I called and told them that I'll be dropping it off tonight and they can test it tomorrow. Errgh. Another day without the car!

Kenny Blankenships most painful elimination of the day is Weasel 22..his untimely response and even faster crash and burn was most unpleasant..tho there was a STi there today that resembled his car...im currently heading to lens crafters to have my glasses checked..........................
