Something D-O-O economics?

Nick Koan 2007-04-12 09:57 AM

To be honest, I can't remember too well.

There we video games there but not in an area like at Bully's. No pool or strippers though, unless we bring our own.

I think they have like one hunting game or something lame.... no arcade. :( But they do have electronic trivia and poker type stuff at each table. I'm not sure if there's really enough to keep 'em entertained, but you can probably bring 'em out once and see if they like/hate it.

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-12 09:58 AM

Anybody? Andybody?

I remember a hunting game and a juke box that stole my quarters (when I was selecting 'Juke Box Hero' actually, how appropriate).

Forgotten 2007-04-12 12:16 PM

There was a little arcade, slightly smaller, but comparable to bully's. It was behind most of the people, but I could see it where I was sitting.

JonnydaJibba 2007-04-13 07:08 AM

Mmmm, my Charlie's sammich was good. =)

knucklesplitter 2007-04-13 07:56 AM

My son's ballgame wasn't over until 7:30. Then it would have been 20 minute drive down to BWW. So we ended up at... Bully's. :(

What happened with this? I wasn't standing up front but why did we have to wait? They don't do reservations?

MattR 2007-04-13 08:04 AM

What happened?

We went in a little early (cause it was cold) and they had another big party in that rear area that was supposed to be done about 7:30. We ended up hanging out for like half an hour or so for the tables.

But then they gave us three free appetizer platters and some free beer.

NevadaSTi 2007-04-13 08:30 AM

I honestly can't blaim them for the Galena Softball team being there. Its not like you can tell them to get lost due to another large group coming in at 7:30.

The free-bees were a cool appeasement.

They can if they really want to earn our business.

What they should have done was tell them, "We've got room for your team, but the tables are reserved at 7:30, will you need the tables for longer than that?"

...i.e. they could have been up-front about our 7:30 reservations, rather than hope they'd leave in time and have to kick them out or make us wait if they're not.

Also, I talked to the acting manager last night and she ensured us that they'd work out "real" reservations for us to make sure the tables are available, and I told her that 7pm would probably be better than 7:30pm for the tables, so we might want to start showing up before 7 if we want to bullshit in the parking lot for more than a few minutes before going in.

tysonK 2007-04-13 10:05 AM

I like the meet to be @ 6pm.

thank you.

If it was up to you it would be at 3pm, right?

True enough. It would appear that this was not the case. Perhaps we should have walked down to the Western Grill place. Or whatever that other restaurant is called.

IMO, if you have 25 members of a High School sports team in your restaurant, I would cater more to them then a random group of car enthusiasts like us. Our groups seem to range from around 30 to maybe 10 people on occasion.

Now, each of those 25-30 members of a sports team have other teams as friends, i.e. Softball and Soccer. These teams also have the respective families to contend with. If the restaurant gains a bad reputation with one of the teams, or even the coaches for that, then I could see a trickle down effect that would cause most of the school and everyone who is associated with these teams to not want to come to the restaurant. Correct me if my since of business and human behavior is wrong.

Now, our group of enthusiasts, I can't imagine us to have that big of an affect.

Except we're the group with the reservation, they're the group that just randomly showed up.

Also, we're on the internet.
