I have some extended studs that Sperry gave me. You can have them if you want them. I think a couple of the threads need to be cleaned up. They aren't ARP. I think they came with some spacers he bought or something.

rory_a 2011-11-22 12:06 PM

If they'll fit I'll take 'em!

cody 2011-11-22 12:11 PM

Cool, you can swing by and pick them up some evening. Just let me know.

rory_a 2011-11-22 12:14 PM

Will do. Did you get a new number when you changed your phone/plan?

cody 2011-11-22 12:15 PM

Nope. Still the same.

rory_a 2011-11-22 12:18 PM

Cool. I'll see what's best with the lady for heading over this week.

rory_a 2011-11-30 07:13 AM

So I'm getting closer... Need to talk to Scott about some rear plates, working with GC on the fronts, tires will be in this week, valve stems were delayed but will be here this week...

Not sure if I shared these yet:

Check your PMs, I replied to you last week!

I know, but I'm a frickin slacker and been putting this thing off way too much trying to ge my house ready vacated and ready to rent again... Unsuspected lease termination and all that.

This coming week though, getting tires installed

I don't think you recognized my little black Sentra when I buzzed up by you on the freeway near Plumb last night Rory. Your car looks SUPER low cruising along on those wheels! I will admit though, they look good!

rory_a 2011-12-16 05:43 PM

Scott - I got a little impatient lol... But, the front camber plates are sitting here, and need to get the rears so I can go to town. Planning on going another 1/2" lower all around - which will mean I will effectively be another 1/2" higher as far as the front coils are concerned :)

Rear end does need to come in a bit though, will be moving the struts in about 1/4" to accommodate the 5mm spacers. so, definitely still need the rear plates...

Cory - I did recognize you - but only by the time that you were starting to pass, I saw you and then that green sway bar and said "shit that's Cory!". I honked. you were exiting already though.

rory_a 2012-01-09 08:00 PM

So, I was installing my camber plates and ran into some issues. Waiting on more bushings from Ground Control, and a rebuilt strut from KW. Will also have the springs powder coated while everything's apart as they were used, and rusty.

Car's been layed up for over a week. I'm dying... At least the Jeep's hanging in there.

100_Percent_Juice 2012-01-10 08:03 AM

So are you gonna enter top scoob or what?

rory_a 2012-01-10 09:47 AM

Lol no way I can get it done in time. I would have had I been able to get the camber plates installed. But bb ever got any real pics taken before I started the swap, and no way it'll be done before the weekend.

And no way to change the thread title.

rory_a 2012-01-30 09:58 PM

So I've been a bit busy, had some complications with camber plate swap and whatnot, but now fully aligned and where it's gonna stay. Wish I had gone with 255s now, but the 235s will work...

Still need to sways, throw on some bushings, etc.*

* Cory was right, it really didn't want to get up his alignment rack :(

cody 2012-01-30 10:05 PM

Love the carwash pics!

Car looks dope, but I'd rather see fender flares and those wheels properly wrapped with 285's.

rory_a 2012-01-30 10:20 PM

Enough room for 255s when these are shot. It'll be a while though :(

And I'll be tracking down some 255s for the 17" RPFs soon... :)

100_Percent_Juice 2012-01-30 10:36 PM

I think the car doesn't seem that low because of the way the light hits those stretched tires.

rory_a 2012-01-30 10:40 PM

Lol pretty much. And the tires still have a bunch of the mold release on them. I need to dress them. I really hate putting anything on tires though. Hoping to get to hand wash it next week or so, hoping simple green will clean them up.

sperry 2012-01-30 11:44 PM

Those tires are just too small. :(

The stretch is just way too much. 255s would even be a little narrow IMO. Those wheels are huge! As it sits, it looks unnecessarily low while still having a lot of fender gap.

What's the size of that tire? 235/35/18? It looks smaller than the stock overall diameter. I'd run something like a 255/40/18 if you can get it to fit. You can still run big, low offset wheels and have some sidewall... it just likely means a bit more fender attention.

rory_a 2012-01-30 11:59 PM

They are 235/35. I was going to get 255/35 but these were half the price, figured it d be better to go smaller if I didn't know theyd fit. Will be going for 255/35 next. The 255/35 is the same overall diameter as stock, 255/40 would be huge in 18 - the 255/40/17 is the same diameter as stock 17s.

Basically, I'm not low enough to pull off as much stretch as I have. But can't reason replacing new tires.

Unless, of course, someone needs a set of 235/35.

And, the car has no wheel gap. The fenders are flush sigh the tops of the tires. On all four. He poor pic angles are just playing tricks on your eyes. :)
