Van, that was such a fun corse, very unique, I liked how it drove. I coned away a 41.6 right at the end. But I had nothing for Cody, dude, you killed us today. I never thought I'd be battling for top raw time week after week, but it's fun to push for it. Awesome day Seccs. I also love that Kevin is killing it with fwd, haha

cody 2010-05-02 02:35 PM

Thanks for the props guys. I never imagined I'd win Pax at an event. The new wider wheels and tires are definitely the hot ticket.

It's really coming together for a lot of us, I can see. Matt threw down a sick time in the first run group this morning that I couldn't even touch in the afternoon when I RNP. I know SECCS did really well...can't wait to see the results for today.

I told Van, that I really enjoyed the course. I agree that it was unique. Especially yesterday, I loved how the elements flowed perfectly and required some serious skill to string together correctly. I also loved the slalom. I think the slalom cones were stretched a little wider than usual, which made it seriously fast. So much fun! Thanks to everyone who helped out.

MattR 2010-05-02 02:49 PM

I don't know what the distance was, but I was carrying stupid high speed through that slalom, I loved it, they must have been close to 60' apart. Today's course was challenging for sure....the turn to the finish was friggin awesome, Van, I hope you made a map of that course, it's one of those courses you can build on and tweak to perfection.

Anyway, looking forward to the results...I felt pretty good about my times in the early group today. Randy Jones rode along with me and was near speechless...I didn't know that was possible...

MikeK 2010-05-02 02:58 PM

Round 3 results might be a while. Jason has a lot of errors to fix from this afternoon.

Kevin M 2010-05-02 03:03 PM

If my 41.153 was clean (and I never found out for certain that it was) then I won today. And if it wasn't clean, then my 41.341 probably won today. I had a 40.9 going on my 5th run, but pushed it too hard through the finish and took out two cones and coasted to a 41.2. Not looking forward to the next event weekend though, where all the fast SP guys are running later in the day than me! I expect to lose some points on those days.

k-dogg39 2010-05-02 05:17 PM

Damn, wish I could have been there :(.

A1337STI 2010-05-02 05:47 PM

41.341 is a great HS time! good work! and the 41.1 is ever better if thats clean!

MikeK 2010-05-02 06:52 PM

Round 3 results posted.

Kevin did it - CONGRATULATIONS!! That was excellent driving, and I attest to your excellent coaching as well.

And, Many Thanks to you & Nina, for letting me RNP your car this afternoon. What a blast! Great Car!

And in addition to Kevin, the Top 11 pax positions today also included SECCS members:
#2, Matt
#3, Alex,
#5, Vic,
#6, Mike K
#7, Cody
#8, Cory
#9, Bob (Danger :-) )
#11, Jason C

Great Job to all of You! And GREAT JOB TO VAN for 2 fun courses in 2 days!!!

MikeK 2010-05-02 07:17 PM

BTW great job this weekend, Van. Everything went smoothly, and the courses were challenging but still fun, especially today.

Yesterday's last corner was a bit frustrating, but crossing the finish line at full throttle today was a blast!

That's what I'm saying...dude, nice run, you and Bryan N put down some really quick runs, wow. :D

Oh, and dammit Kevin...:P

szucchet 2010-05-02 07:52 PM

i wish i could had made it today, sounds like you guys had fun

Oh, and dammit Kevin...:P

you're wasting all that power to the rear wheels dude. You guys should just drop your driveshafts and get back that power loss. :p

MattR 2010-05-02 08:16 PM

You're not making it any better...your signature sucks too...

Kevin M 2010-05-02 08:20 PM

FYI Debbie, your 42.1 in the afternoon would have been handily enough for top Ladies' PAX, and 8th in Open PAX despite coning your 41 away. I'd say you take coaching pretty well.

Kevin M 2010-05-02 08:47 PM

I'm also loving that on any given day, there are at least 8 people who can win PAX... even when the karts show up!

MikeK 2010-05-02 09:11 PM

Wow, I just saw the Pax season standings so far. Well done you guys! I guess now we want the surface to stay crappy all year

Skidder 2010-05-03 07:41 AM

I came out to see the course on Saturday... the course looked pretty tough. It also looks like 95% of the Subarus at the event are also on this forum.

cody 2010-05-03 08:04 AM

I'd guess more like 60%.

I'm happy with that, also considering that's my first time in a FWD car. (Although those were my 6th through 10th runs, too. Sorry to course workers who had to repair the damages I left behind, I think I got the same cone twice on Mike's corner.)

I'm sure I had it coming :)

A1337STI 2010-05-24 11:10 AM

Who will win pax Sat & sunday?

cody and Matt will be racing last on saturday. lots of time for Rides and course walking, and course cleaning. I expect they will both be in the top 5! How affected with Kevin be by running in the first run group? (probably not enough for my liking! lol)

Sunday Kevin's in the 3rd group , with vic and I in the 4th with Green going first. Matt really wasn't affected last time he had to race first so i still expect a top 5 (top 3) out him .. Cody might slip a few spots whos's gonna come out of the weekend with the most pax points earned?
i'm guessing
Matt, Kevin, Cody for the 1-3 spots..

anyone else want to make guesses? :)

cody 2010-05-24 11:13 AM

I predict that my performance next weekend will be unpredicable, given my track record.

van 2010-05-24 11:35 AM

I predict Kevin will come in here and brag about how well He's going to do this weekend, then do the same all Saturday and Sunday.

Nah, I went down to Sac on the 15th for a dose of humility. 4th in street tire (behind a Corvette, Camaro and a Porsche) and 73rd in PAX. On good days I'm fast, but I'm not as consistent as Matt and Alex are, so I'm just hoping to stay in the hunt and end with a PAX trophy this season.

There's also Cory, who will probably show up and start kicking some ass too pretty soon.

szucchet 2010-05-24 12:28 PM

I predict, me been able to make both days and having alot of fun:D.
hopefully well have good weather

WRXlerate 2010-05-24 01:45 PM

I plan on making it out both days. It was so much fun last time I don't think I can resist. Cory once told me it was like crack...and now I see why!!

As for the weather, last time I checked was 10% chance of precip on sat. 0% on sun. But anyone's guess is as good as what you read on weather.com

MattR 2010-05-24 01:57 PM

Hahaha...this is funny...I am happy to be running last saturday, I think the afternoon groups have performed better this year, So I have to capitalize Saaturday. Don't forget Mike K, he's more than capable of putting a smack down on us all, even in TSM..

Sunday, running 1st...ugggh. Definately not as big a disadvantage as going out first on saturday. I hope to do well this weekend, I've been getting schooled in PAX by the stock cars so far this year.

A1337STI 2010-05-24 03:10 PM

Oh ya, Cory and Mike can definitely be PAX contenders too! I was thinking the pax rating in TSU was a bit too high for mike to be able to come into play, but he's back to SM this year huh? and only 1 event away from leading his class! Wow!!

and crap Cory is in Green right? Last on Saturday... He'll do well.. probably place 5th and a1/2 fastest :?:

i think Mike is going back to skipping events for this year right? lmao  at least until i have enough pax points over him?

Kevin M 2010-05-24 03:13 PM

Mike said he'll be running the rest of the season, provided his tires hold out.

MikeK 2010-05-24 04:19 PM

I don't think I have a chance at PAX, SM is too hard. I am thinking of just running no points in the afternoon with you guys and trying for a decent raw time again. Getting up before 10 am hurts my feelings, anyway.

MPREZIV 2010-05-24 07:00 PM

Put new shoes on the car today... The others were definitely starting to give it up. Soon as I get the feel of the new rubber, I shall start to bring the pain.

MattR 2010-05-24 07:10 PM

Cory, with new tread you will feel awesome out there...I put Cory in the top 3 saturday

cody 2010-05-24 07:13 PM

Oh, BTW, if anyone wants to get out of shagging cones, you can help me out with putting bracelets on people and getting them to sign the waiver as they drive in. It's kinda fun to meet everyone and you can stand at Registration while cars are running, most of the time.

i can do that:D, just tell me what time to be there and ill be there:cool:.
looks like I will be running RNP morning and afternoon on sat and TSM on sunday (i can only stay for the morning :( )

what did you get?

MPREZIV 2010-05-25 08:00 AM

245/40R17 RE01R's. Gonna spend the week scrubbing them in, and we should be rock and roll for Saturday!

A1337STI 2010-05-25 08:45 AM

245/40R17 RE01R's nice ... would 255's run on your car? Yep i think Cory will have a great shot at top 3 in pax Saturday, I'll try to sweep the line some for ya.. . and i'll sweep off the line quite a bit too lol

MikeK 2010-05-25 08:49 AM

My money is on Cory or Kevin to win PAX, although Cody is almost due for another bs run by now :)

WRX06TR 2010-05-25 11:57 AM

I will be out on Saturday running in SM, where I'm sure I will be stomped but I don't really care. Got the STi all suited up with 255 Azenis.

I can't really remember when to show up for running afternoon, be there by 12?

Kevin M 2010-05-25 12:28 PM

12 at the latest, but it should be early enough. 11-11:30 is better to ensure you have time to walk the course and do some socializing at lunch. :)

WRX06TR 2010-05-25 12:43 PM

Sounds good I will aim to get out there by 11.

If they would, I would have bought them some while ago! The 245's are entirely more than that car was ever intended for, and it was a PAIN to get them to clear.

I could get 255's to clear, but I'd be needing yet another suspension "re-map" in order to do so.

YGPM :)

Anybody else willing to help? I'm especially interested in somebody who will be there to run Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon.

van 2010-05-25 02:07 PM

I'm not sure we can promise someone they can get out of chasing cones for helping you put on wristbands. Attendance has been good so far this year so it's possible but it really isn't an official work assignment. If we are short people (like all of last season) they are going to have to work.

cody 2010-05-25 02:19 PM

Wes, Carol, Dave, and everyone else I've talked to has indicated otherwise. In fact, if what you just stated becomes true, I will quit as Waiver's chief. I suggest you PM me if you'd like to discuss this further.

van 2010-05-25 02:22 PM

Calm down Buddy, I'll pm you in a bit

Kevin M 2010-05-25 05:51 PM

The waiver position is indeed an official work assignment, it just wasn't put on the worker sheets last season. It's part of the sanctioning rules that we have to have someone assigned to that position at all times.

To clarify, if "helping Cody" means not sticking him with the assignment the entire day other than his run group, I'm all for it. But for now, it's unlikely we can put more than one person on the duty.
