Resistance 2 is awesome so far...and Gears of War 2 comes out on Friday which should be epic as well.

Unfortunately you can't target any body parts in VATS with melee weapons or unarmed. :(

I just killed everyone in Tenpenny Towers.

I was walking up a hill, in the southeast corner of the map when I see a red bleep on my compass, I see a molerat cress the top of the hill and quickly pull out my sword. As soon as I exit the pipboy I see this really large animal in the air come crashing down on this molerat. I instantly hit B, and as the pipboy screen is coming up I see this 10ft tall werewolf leaping through the air at me. I pull out my combat shotgun and instantly go into VATS. Two shots right to the face, nothing, this damn thing is knocking the shit out of me. I try to back up, rocks. I pull up the pipboy, Mini Nuke that jerk right in the face as he's slapping me around. Needless to say we both where killed.

What the hell.

If it was on all fours and hairy, it was probably a Yao Guai.

Yeah those guys are gnarly and will fuck you up if you don't pay attention. 2 shots to the dome with the snipe will kill them though.

Bob a guy at Game Force yesterday was telling me how his 10 year old son robbed everybody in Tenpenny (rich fuckers) and then let the ghouls go on them haha.

What level are you guys at?

I picked up Gears 2 yesterday. So bloody, so fun.

I hit max level a few nights ago (20).

There is still so much to do. I think I'll finish up the main questline, and start a new character.

Max is 20? That's wack. I'm at 14 or 15 now. Fuck that shit.

Little Big Planet. . . I actually haven't played it. I passed it up so I could buy a copy of Bioshock for PS3 instead. I love Bioshock, so I don't regret the choice. I may request LBP for xmas, though.

Fable II. The actual title of this game should be something like, "The Real Fable 1." It's a good game, but it's so similar to the original in every way that it comes off feeling sub-standard when compared to other current-gen titles, particularly in terms of visuals. It's odd. I like the game because it's Fable, but compared to other new titles it's best described as, "meh, this is what they said the first one would be." It feels old already.

Tomb Raider Underworld (demo). Prompted me to cancel my reservation. I really liked Legend, but this feels like an odd step backwards. I may still pick it up when the price drops.

Mirror's Edge (demo). Three words: O. M. G. If they can maintain the quality of gameplay, level design, and presentation all the way through, this may actually rival MGS4 for my choice of game of the year.

And this one's old news, but I also picked up Uncharted: Drake's Fortune on PS3. Wow, talk about production values. Great gameplay and cinematics, unlockable bonus videos and artwork, and extra gameplay tweaks for re-plays. Naughty Dog really knows how to give you the most for your $60.

Mirror's Edge does look awesome. It would never play well on my laptop with so much eye candy, but PS3's will come down in price someday right? :?:

I finally beat God of War II last week (PS2) and picked up DIRT ($7) and Bioshock ($20) for PC. Oddly enough, BioShock plays well on medium settings, but DIRT, not so much. It's probably the video driver I'm running or just a crappy port. :?:

Yeah, I know. People are hoping that a DLC or a patch or something will change that. But then again, by level 20, you are fairly powerful in the game.

And the one thing that is nice, is that you don't exactly have to min/max your characters to make them effective all the way through the game.

No, it wasn't a Yao Guai, it was a Deathclaw.

I think I'm at level 8, and I just ran into my first group of Regulators.

That was going to be my other guess.

Bobby have you been enslaving people? That seems like something you would do. You get a pretty good cut for each person.

Would you guys quit going through this game play by play!!! Some of us have yet to experience it.

We haven't really given away any crucial plot points or anything. Regardless of how you play the game, eventually you will visit the same place somebody else has.

I'm only level 6 in Fallout 3; I have too many games to play at once. :eek:

Yup. You need to visit Paradise Falls. It's NE of Minefield. Or N of Big Town, across the river. You'll figure it out once you go there. I wanted to keep doing business there, but I accidentally made a chicks head explode with the Mezzer and I was forced to kill the entire town. You'll find more out about that too.

Two of my friends who loved the first one have not only already beaten F2, but were bored before they did. They said that F2 is how the first one should have been, and that it's mostly a kiddie game. Another case of blown up expectations by idiot gaming periodicals.
