Security be damned.

I have a very complex, for a home, network with a 24 port Cisco switch, 2 routers(1 wired, 1 wireless) another wireless AP and a bunch of wired and wireless clients. I keep watching Craigslist for a super cheap WRT54G which might replace both routers.

If you disable all security and encryption on your wireless, things are much more stable. :)

I have to have security on mine though, because I live in an appartment complex.. Any other thoughts on what I should do to make it more stable? I dont have any connections to the wired ports either..

OMG Tversity is awesome. I thought it was going to use way more CPU cycles running on my 5 year old desktop but the CPU hovered around 6-15% while we watched an AVI last night. The picture quality was very good too...with no stuttering at all. Can't wait to try some HD content to see how that goes.

Check the manufacturer's website for any firmware updates.

I was kidding. Why not? Router should be next to something. Wired is way more stable and faster.

Like I said, find the quietest channel and disable scanning and delete other networks or move them down.

I would just like to add that Killzone 2 is awesome and totally worth the money. And stoked for xbox 360 is really good if you like snowboarding. and its only $40. =)

cody 2009-03-03 03:08 PM

Are there any decent snowboarding games for PS3?

sperry 2009-03-03 03:09 PM

I picked up Skate 2 over the weekend for 360. I really like the use of the right stick for manipulating the board, it really makes it feel more like you've got control over what you're doing with some finesse rather that just mashing buttons.

I actually think the game is better than Tony Hawk 2, which was a masterpiece on the PS2.

Shaun White snowboarding is ok. I think it is the only snowboarding game for PS3.

I agree with Scott on Skate 2, I have it for PS3 and it is good!

Resident Evil 5 comes out soon! So excited! So excited that I will NEVER be able to play it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dean 2009-03-04 02:14 PM

This seems like the right place to post this...

On CNBC today, they talked about Bill Gates' kids/family and that even though they can afford anything in the world, there are some things Bill will not let his wife or kids buy...

Anything from Apple!

So, they are the only kids in the world without an iPod or iPone.

This ensures the kids will be outcasts carrying Zunes....

I was thinking that it was going to be a Play Station when they teased it a few minutes beforehand.

I seriously doubt his kids give a rats ass about an iphone. Your post had nothing to do with games so you need to GTFO bitch-ass president!

cody 2009-03-04 02:28 PM

Glad you're keeping the employed in the loop on the important stuff. :P

At least it's not Steve Jobs preventing his kids from running PC's and Xboxes.

He tried to tie it in at the end.

I'm pretty sure if Microsoft has a corporate policy that employees are not allowed to buy competing Apple products, Bill Gates better be the first person to comply with that policy.

I reflashed my WRT54G with DD-WRT. It's been running for over a year on jacked-up xmit power on a Yagi antenna. ATT DSL. It has been more stable than the factory firmware. I play BF2 and Project Reality on it and get pings in the 30's a lot.

Cool, can I borrow it to see if it prevents the stuttering I'm now seeing between Tversity and the PS3? :P

No, but I can take care of that PS3 for you.

Fat chance. Kris bought me Guitar Hero III for my bday. Between that and GTA4, you're not getting me away from the thing. :P

I was thinking a more permanent fix, save you some trouble.

Kevin M 2009-03-04 09:32 PM

Wouldn't this be more fun?
