The light turned green and the back of his car shrugged down as if it was carrying a shopping carts worth of concrete mix.

This could be the funniest shit I've read in the sighting thread in 5 years...very well done  I love it when the SVX squats down and then tele-ports off into the distance...

Saw a good looking 06-07 black STI on Mae Anne around 4:20. He complimented my exhaust, which made my day :)

100_Percent_Juice 2009-06-14 11:43 PM

Saw Dean pulling his trailer. I was in the VUE and I honked like 5 times before I gave up and then pulled in front of you and flashed teh hazards a few times. It was right before that LONG detour after Auburn. What a mess.

Didn't realize it was you. I think it was in one of the uphill sections where I am busy pedaling the truck as hard as I can. 5L pulling a loaded enclosed trailer is not fun and we had spent 6 hours loading it. I was beat.

You should have tried driving it through the 9' wide part coming into NV at that hour dog tired... Holy !@#$%

100_Percent_Juice 2009-06-15 07:52 AM

Yeah it got really narrow in some spots. I said to my wife "I bet Dean is loving this". Since when does the DOT use chunks of concrete dividers like that. They can't even put them in a straight line.

cody 2009-06-15 08:17 AM

Yah, those little K-rails jump right out at you. I think drunk children set them up.

Dean 2009-06-15 08:34 AM

I think that was the most stressful experience I have ever had behind the wheel and I have been in a number of white outs and sand storms, cars spinning in front of me on the track, etc...

Why the hell they did that instead of just cutting both directions down to 1.5 lanes is just crazy.

I can't imagine doing that in a big rig, much less with dual trailers.

I apparently had a CHP behind be for the whole distance as he passed me the second we escaped the walls of doom. It would be interesting to hear what he said about how I did. I never took a second to look back or right really. My only job was to keep the truck about 2 feet off the left wall. I figured if I did that, everything else would take care of itself.

Oh, and there was 1 HUGE pothole or drain or something on the right side that made me think I had hit the wall, but again, what are you going to do? You have nowhere to go, stopping means shutting down traffic and probably an accident...

They're like that because they have a special rig that can move the wall back and forth by driving over it and picking up the blocks and setting them down one lane over. It was parked on the west side of the wall Saturday... big yellow cross between a grader tractor and a centipede looking thing.

bigrobwoot 2009-06-15 01:40 PM

Just saw a wrb 04-05 and a wrb 06-07, both WRXs, taking the pyramid off-ramp off of I-80 east in sparks. I was in the yellow NDOT truck on the sidewalk lol

I work there at "mystic flats" sub-contracted thru granite const. and have hauled in some of that safety rail... 2 saturday nights ago about 3am I was in the "dead lane" and a semi hit it hard enuf to move and shift it! just down from where I was at.. been 7 wrecks in 1.5 weeks in that stretch so cal trans made them divide another lane there now just for truck traffic and it's still bad but you are less likely to have a section of k-rail sandwich you in if your going the opp. direction when a truck hits it

Ha! No, I didn't see that part, but I only saw her and her friend as they were going inside, not coming out. Wish I had! :D She had parked directly in front of my car, but it didn't seem as though she recognized it!

I am pretty sure as a teenage girl in the company of her friend(s), acknowledging a car as something other than a means to get to the mall or as "cute" when appropriate would be a terrible faux paux. ;)

A comment like, "Oh, that is Cory's car! He is a good driver, and his car is a wicked fast autocross car that is almost as fast as the Turbo charged STIs and has this cool detachable steering wheel!" is not going to play well and likely to get her ostracized.

I kid... Actually, last I knew, many of Rachel's friends know she autocrosses and some have come out and ridden with her.

MPREZIV 2009-06-19 07:08 AM

Well I wasn't expecting any reaction, but I laughed at the look on her face that said, "I know that car, but I can't think of where from....?"

GusGus91 2009-06-19 07:57 AM

Whoever has the legacy that Andy's BBS's, I saw you at rainbow market this morning about 7:30.

Then I saw spencer at south meadows, when I was getting on the freeway.

scootyc 2009-06-19 08:48 AM

^^ Yeah, that was me. Was getting a few KING888's to start off the day. I should have taken your lead and hit that car wash across the street. Your car sounds great BTW.

GusGus91 2009-06-19 09:19 AM

Yea, mine was terrible looking! lol i did a little rally yesterday with the flat4 group.

Thanks! =)

TrueNative 2009-06-19 04:26 PM

I got the signature two finger subaru salute from a truck towing a boat on longley today.?.?.?

van 2009-06-19 05:03 PM

I saw a nice looking blue newish legacy(lgt?) followed by what looked to be Dewy's 'STI' with a giant The Tire Rack sticker taking up the whole front fender today.

scootyc 2009-06-23 12:29 PM

A de-badged 08/09 spec B (?) going through the spaghetti bowl yesterday around 6:15 pm.

Jcjentz 2009-06-24 08:29 PM

100_Percent_Juice 2009-06-24 10:59 PM

There are only 3 times of day Rob. Breakfast time, Lunch time, and Dinner time. There is no name for all the eating done between those times.

scootyc 2009-06-24 11:17 PM

JC??! Was that you? I saw you today going down Arlington, but the guy driving to spec kinda looked like you as i blew his doors off. :)

van 2009-06-25 07:28 PM

Yeah, it was "A car I don't Know - Moose - A car I don't Know..." I took a couple guesses on who it was, and I was right!
