I don't know if its because I'm jonesing hard for baseball to start up, but MLB10 The Show is an awesome baseball game.

The regular part of the game is pretty fun, where you play as the whole team and whatnot, but they also have this mode called Road To The Show, where you basically start in double-A ball and try to make it to the big leagues. If you pick a position player, it fast forwards through all the stuff where you don't have anything to do and then stops to let you take at-bats or whenever there is a ball hit in your general direction. A lot of the times, it seems to drop you into clutch situations where an out or a hit mean the difference in a game. So far, I've yet to make it out of double-A. But that's probably due to being a left fielder with a ~.180 average.

Also, I think its the first baseball game I've bought since RBI baseball (which I don't think I technically bought with my own money, since I was 8 )

I have God of War 3 in hand. I'm pumped!

How does Amazon get away with not charging me tax when they ship from Fernley half the time.

Great, now I have both of the songs from RBI playing simultaneously in my head... the happy "no one on base" music, and the stressful "man in scoring position" jingle.

They don't have a B&M retail store in NV?

Yah, that's what I've been told, but plenty of places that don't have a B&M store still charge tax purely because they're shipping within the state. I work for such a place.

Nick Koan 2010-03-22 04:22 PM

I'm no expert, but I believe it doesn't necessarily depend on where you ship or where you keep offices, it counts on where you charge the money. Without someone here in Nevada actively collecting money, they are good to go. The only state they need to collect taxes for is whichever unlucky state the credit card processor is in.

Microsoft has an office here in Reno, to take advantage of the corporate tax breaks for collecting money here instead of someplace more expensive like California or Washington.

That makes sense.

Anyone play MAG yet for PS3? It is pretty insane. Up to 256 players at a time. Pretty amazing. Makes COD seem really slow.

cody 2010-04-08 08:29 AM

Left 4 Dead 2 (Xbox 360) or Need For Speed Shift (PS3) $20

Nick Koan 2010-04-08 08:36 AM

Newegg has The Saboteur on sale for $20 too. Both 360 and PS3. PC owners get boned with a $28 price tag

PS3

360

So, if you've ever wanted to be a Irish racecar driver that beats up Nazi's in occupied France and hides in strip clubs to evade authorities, then this is the game for you.

I dunno... sounds too much like my everyday life. Where's the sense of escape and fantasy?

As seen on NASIOC, the best f'ing flash game ever: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/534416

That was a pretty cool concept. However, I did lose interest fast. I muted the sound even faster.

I finally picked up a wheel.

Logitech Driving Force GT Racing Wheel for PS3 $60 AMIR

Supposedly works for both PS3 and PC.

I'm using the ps2 version of that wheel on my pc currently, albeit with custom made pedals and a gated shifter. It works pretty well on pc IMO.

Sweet.

Here's an interesting review: http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpos...8&postcount=39

Sucks about the pedals, but oh well.

Actually, I found the pedals totally adequate for GT3/GT4 on the PS2. They're not awesomely sensitive, and the feedback on them is bleak... but they were very reliable and took hours and hours of abuse. But for iRacing, I want gas/brake/clutch and a shifter... so I'm running my home-brew setup... which is really on its last leg... My pedals are like 15+ years old at this point!

What happens when a guy uploads a video to youtube, downloads it and uploads it again another 999 times?

Loss of fidelity? You betcha.
