 C'mon Kev. Help a n00b out! I don't know if there's a reason that I should go to that specific one or somthing.

Like me last year, I only ran 6 events which means I didn't qualify for season standings, but its still fun to go out occasionally and just run for fun.

There's the answer I was looking for! Thanks Nick!

Okay fine Cody.
What Nick said. :p

Nick Koan 2006-03-31 03:12 PM

Well, the first event they expect a lot of beginners, so it might be helpful but it won't be the end of the world if you don't make it. Some of the people are a little more aware that there are new people. Thats not to say people are unfriendly or unhelpful the rest of the season, I'm just saying people are extra helpful that weekend.

Shouldn't really be a problem since you know some of us, and we can help you out until you get into the swing of things.

As for actual driving practice, I'd say that the school tomorrow would be more important to attend then the first points weekend.

cody 2006-03-31 03:14 PM

Yah, I made sure I'd be able to make it to the school this weekend. Good lookin' out, thanks.

bruspeed 2006-03-31 03:18 PM

Also, don't do a noob thing like forget to change you're clocks ahead and show up an hour late this weekend. I did that last year, it was cool.

cody 2006-03-31 03:26 PM

Well the clocks go ahead Sunday morning at 2am.

So what's up with the test and tune on Sunday? Should I go to that? When does it start?

Kevin M 2006-03-31 03:54 PM

Yes, going would be beneficial. It should start around 8:30, like any other event here.

Even if I've been out all night drinking, etc.? ;)

How's that Hunter S. Thompson quote go? Something about not recommending certain things, even though they always worked well for him.... yeah, something like that.

I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs or insanity for everyone, but they've always worked for me

In all seriousness though, I wouldn't recommend it. If you don't feel fit to drive, you might as well stay off the course (but come out and watch if you want).

rubberbiscuitt 2006-03-31 10:22 PM

first post. first autox event tomorrow.

M3n2c3 2006-03-31 10:32 PM

I'm crossing my fingers for decent weather.

A1337STI 2006-03-31 10:55 PM

is it raining / snowing down there right now? lots of snow up here. LOTS , i almost just want to go snowboarding , though my neck still hurts from a crash thursday so autocross is probably best for me ;)

M3n2c3 2006-04-01 12:13 AM

It was snowing like crazy in Carson when I left work ant 9:30PM, but just rain in Dayton.

Dean 2006-04-01 07:10 AM

Knock on wood, the weather looks good... Ground is even dry at my house.

MattR 2006-04-01 04:34 PM

You mean the overwhelming domination of Subarus, that kicked ass.

MikeK 2006-04-01 05:00 PM

Dean 2006-04-02 06:17 AM

No run order today... Morning and afternoon sessions with 6 runs per session. Run one, or both. Hopefully they have it figured so you only wor a small portion of the time.

M3n2c3 2006-04-02 03:05 PM

That worked out really well today. I was pretty pleased.
