Sunday is going to be my first run at the autoX. Cory has been nagging me to go since i got my RS

Joeyy 2007-08-03 04:07 PM

See you all in the morning, I'm off to work. It will be nap time between the course walk and driver's meeting.

MattR 2007-08-03 06:42 PM

Does anyone have an "s" and an "m" magnet I can borrow for Sunday?

I couldn't catch you... Mike showed up and could have run, but thought we would be almost done and didn't bring the STI.

MikeK 2007-08-05 05:18 PM

Scott has teh results! :)

MattR 2007-08-05 05:30 PM

Can we get cliffnotes since we may not see them for a while? How'd the afternoon go? I heard Kevin though-down

sperry 2007-08-05 06:51 PM

Can someone give me a summary of the event to post for the SCCA website?

(results posted)

Dean 2007-08-05 06:53 PM

Kevin slapped Nick around like his bitch in his own car and took ESP and highest "T" PAX spot I believe.

I ran RTESP in Sue's Wagon, and I think I would have been in 4th edging out Cody by a tenth.

John Perry ended up beating Randy by less than a tenth, but that may be morning news.

That's all I got.

Nick Koan 2007-08-05 06:55 PM

Unfortunately I wasn't paying attention to any battle except the one I was currently losing.

I'm sure if I posted that it would make all sorts of sense to people reading the SCCA website.

I was responding to Matt's question, not yours. yourself...

And I see why you lost today Nick...

Kevin was driving a Legacy GT and you were just in a Legacy according to the results. :)

Then learn to use the quote button. It's not like Matt and my posts were within a minute of each other, they were more than an hour apart!

I like the number 10 so much that I made it my number. To bad I could not find another 10 this weekend.:(

MikeK 2007-08-05 07:56 PM

The highest "T" cars were Matt who was 18th on saturday, and Kevin who was 14th today. Kevin had an amazing run today. He was only 2 tenths behind Dean!

On a related note, we found out that Nick's car is fast this weekend :)

Joseph Ysais finally beat Al Patterson.

The karts took pax both days.

The course was very slow and a little frustrating for people on saturday, but much faster and flowed better on sunday. Grip from the slurry seal didn't seem to be a problem at all.

Matt came between me and Dean in SM today, which kicked so much ass that they had to start importing colons to meet the demand.

That's all I have.

MikeK 2007-08-05 08:02 PM

I almost forgot, today some dude showed up in an STU STi and whipped our monkey asses.

Kevin M 2007-08-05 08:04 PM

Randy Jones beat all Street Tire cars yesterday. Not so much today. I second the comment about the surface- seems to still favor the race tires, but it was much mroe driveable than last event.

Don and Sheri deserve kudos for running a great event. The only criticism would come from the course on Saturday, and they were gracious in accepting it and asking for help from key members to improve it for today. Things couldn't have been much better today, unless there's some way to turn off the wind that we haven't found yet...

MikeK 2007-08-05 08:05 PM

Thanks for posting the results so quickly Scott!

Um, look at the time stamp on my post. Your's wasn't there when I started typing my response to Matt's... And the fact that it wasn't appropriate to your request might have caused you to think about why....

I found saturday's Course frustrating, But mostly due to it having lots of Z's that i'm not good at yet, and other tight elements which makes it easy to over drive my car into understeer. It was Great from a learning stand point though.

Today's was more fun and i came with in .4 Seconds of the AS Big Boys

Nick's car is really fast
Kevin is a hell of a driver (need either him or Dean to co-drive my car a session and show me a peek of how much faster my car is than I'm currently driving it)

OH yeah thanks for the tips on Saturday Cory.

(and in usual fashion replying to really old posts) Sad that the PDX / Trial turn out went down to 10. I started skipping those due to going in between jobs for a little bit too long.

MPREZIV 2007-08-06 06:39 AM

Wow! 0.032 seconds between myself, Nick, and Jason Copper on Sunday! That was an AWESOME battle! I myself, really enjoy some good close competition like that!

And kudos to Nick for irking by me on Saturday, by around 0.07 seconds on his last run! Another close one! Tons of fun!

Our newbie RS driver Moose did very well on Sunday too, first time at auto-x, dropped 11 seconds between his first and last runs. Drove very smooth, and controlled the entire time!

cody 2007-08-06 07:11 AM

Fun weekend! Thanks to all that helped make it happen.

Nick took me for a ride on Saturday and WOW, his car and his driving were fast and he unknowingly taught me a couple tricks, like how to shimmy through the Chicago Box at breakneck speed. I wish I had been in the car when Kevin was driving Sunday. His time was insane. Of course, with my fat ass in the car, he wouldn't have gotten that time. :P

Oh yah, and thanks to Tyson for the ride too. In 1st gear for most of the course, he was actually getting that turbo to spool. :D
