Meet Location Thursday 5-15???

Moderator Take-over! .... I'm adding a poll! (And I've got nothing against Macaroni Grill, I just like to say "Craparoni"

Well, lets get some suggestions together, then we can vote.

I was over by Olive garden today, and I noticed how crowded that lot is. I don't know if that parking lot will accomodate us, but, lets vote on it.

Chili's at S Virginia & McCarran would work too, or Fridays, etc...

Actually, the lot at Cantina was great, empty is good.

what are your thoughts???

ArthurS 2003-05-13 06:17 PM

Actually, The cantina was a pretty good spot. Empty restuarant, and empty parking lot. Just gatta make sure the waitress doesn't think we were joking when we said 'seperate checks'

I agree Olive garden is pretty tight parking. There is also 'On the Border' and 'Macaroni Grill'.

tysonK 2003-05-13 08:53 PM

Here's my preference:
The parking at the restaraunts shold'nt be too bad on Thurs night. We all know firday and Sat are a whole different world.

1. I actually like Red Lobster over Olive Garden
2. Any Chinese Place, Yen Ching on Moana
3. Always down for the Atlantis Buffet, Peppermill seems to have horrible lines
4. Macaroni Grill
5. Claim Jumper
6. Catina(again)
7. Firdays
12. <-- On the Border, Chevys

That actually is a pretty good idea. HUGE parking lot available  and food for everyone.

sperry 2003-05-14 08:06 AM

I'm not a huge fan of casino buffets.... $10 - $15 for cafeteria food :x (unless you're toting coupons).

I think the Chili's / Fridays / Olive Garden lots will be tight for parking the way we like to park, but will prolly be do-able one way or another. I'm just wary of the big chain resteraunts like those, just because I'm afraid they won't have enough room for 10+ people that just suddenly show up. Applebee's seems to be able to handle us, but just barely, and Applebee's isn't that popular of a resteraunt.

I'm for Cantina again, if people can stand more Mexican food. The place was nice and empty, the parking lot was nice and empty, they've got a bar and a TV so we can watch whatever game's on tomorrow if we want.

For Chineese, I'm a fan of Palais de Jade on Moana. As a big group they would prolly hook us up with the back room, but that place is expensive, like $15/person, and we'd prolly need reservations for a group that big.

So I guess I'm for repeating Cantina, but I'm willing to give elsewhere a shot if that's what the group's down for!

ArthurS 2003-05-14 09:55 AM

I am down for wherever. Should have a pretty good turn out tomorrow if STIwish makes it down and a few other people.

STIwish 2003-05-14 11:32 AM

Thats my goal.. I need to hit Lithia for some final paperwork anyways... I will hopefully be there, just let me know where :)

MattR 2003-05-14 12:24 PM

Yeah, Cantina is actually a good fit for us. Cantina's my vote.

ArthurS 2003-05-14 12:31 PM

Alright. I am down for Catina. Maybe another PM should be sent out with maybe directions?

PMs to lots of people suck... there's no way to send to multiple recipients AFAIK!

Hey, what about going to see the Matrix? It opens tomorrow.... but it might be crazy hard to get a group of 10+ ppl in there for an 8pm showing... Anyone off work tomorrow that can go pick up a block of tickets earlier in the day?

That sucks you can't mass IM. Oh well. I don't get off work till about 6:30 pm, so I don't know if I could grab them. But its a good idea.

Actually, it looks like I'm going to see the Matrix tonight! There's some late shows!! Yes!

But, I'll prolly want to see it again tomorrow. I hear there are tons of little clues and stuff to watch for in it, so you have to see it a few times to catch everything.

STIwish 2003-05-14 02:25 PM

Thats one way for them to get people to see it multiple times :)

ArthurS 2003-05-14 02:34 PM

So is it going to be the cantina or matrix movie? or both?

Off-Topic: I can't believe its raining up here. My car is getting wet. It was so hot all day, then BAM, rain.

sperry 2003-05-14 02:59 PM

I edited Matt's post to include a poll... git yer votes in!!

I voted for Cantina v2.0, unless you guys want to go for it and see the Matrix!

AtomicLabMonkey 2003-05-14 03:11 PM

Ok I'm missing an acronym in my collection... what's AFAIK mean?

ZER026D 2003-05-14 03:15 PM

I am down to go and see the Matrix but if were not going to see it I am going tonight.

ArthurS 2003-05-14 03:23 PM

It's opening night TOMORROW night. There's a few "slightly before midnight" showing tonight... like they did with Star Wars. Who know if it'll be even possible to get in.

MattR 2003-05-14 05:00 PM

I work too early, I can;t make a movie, I gotta be in bed by 11. we could still have the Cantina meet at 7, then everyone who wants to can head to a 10:30, 11 etc movie...

sperry 2003-05-15 08:12 AM

Well I saw it last night... :P :D so I'm down for a Cantina only meet.

BTW: on a scale of 1-10 where 10 = The Matrix, and 1 = Battlefield Earth :x, Reloaded was a 9. Not quite as jawdropping as the 1st Matrix, but still very good. Bring your philosophy hats, and your unnecessary tight leather clothing. 8)

STIwish 2003-05-15 08:45 AM
