Charity Poker Run, Lake Tahoe, June 5th

UPDATE:

Caravan to Fun Run 8AM

Meet Saturday JUNE 5th at Bully's Mt Rose. We will leave Bullys by 8 AM sharp so don't be late. I will probably get up there around 7 am and grab breakfast before heading up.

The Rotory Club of Tahoe-Incline is holding a charity Lap-Around-Tahoe Poker Run in Early June, and SECCS has been invited to attend.

The event will be a drive, not a race of any type, but takes an entire lap around the Lake, starting and ending at the Ponderosa in Incline Village.

I have already decided I'm going to attend. I have emailed the person in charge for some more details, as far as registration, entry fees and such.

Please respond if you are interested in attending, I'd like to get a strong group from the SECCS together and run this event. It should be a lot of fun, it will likely be wonderful weather then, and it will help a good cause.

Attending:
1.Matt
2.Mike
3.Roy
4.Scott
5.Tyson
6. Nicole
7. Franz
8. Art
9. WRXRally blue

STIwish 2004-03-07 08:33 PM

Ill ride along if someone will let me.

Nick Koan 2004-03-07 08:57 PM

I'd like to do it, but I'm not really at a point in my life where I can commit to something this far in advance. Keep this stickied, and hopefully I'll be able to make a better decision closer to the time of the event.

sperry 2004-03-07 09:58 PM

It doesn't conflict w/ AutoX, right?

I'm in.

So far I am available on June 5th. This sounds like a great "Group Drive."

Matt, do you know where it will begin, end and where we will eat?

Just curious.

I know it starts and ends at the Ponderosa in Incline. Where we would stop om the way? I'm not sure. But more details will come as the event gets closer.

Is this still happening? Because if it is, I should really plan to attend, it being a 'Rotary' Club event ....

MattR 2004-05-21 09:29 AM

I have an email into the organizer, I should have full details next week.

Matt

Wow... that's post-medication Jerry. :(

I wonder if after he dies, if there'll be a big "young Jerry" vs. "old Jerry" debate for his stamp.

dknv 2004-05-22 06:59 PM

omg, that's Jerry Lewis!? I first thought it must be some Tennessee politician,

I thought it was some Mexican TV game show host. :P

MattR 2004-05-23 01:29 PM

I got the info, I'll post up the details later...

Looks like we missed early reg. So we'll need to register the morning of, no big deal. Should be about $30 + t shirts if desired.

There will be a prize for BEST CLUB ATTENDANCE...We should have a shot at that .

Let tentatively plan on meeting at 7AM Saturday to Caravan up there...We should be to INcline no later than 8:30. Is everyone still in?

I'm in! Where are we meeting? I think my place or Eric's would work since we're the closest to Mt Rose Hwy.

MikeSTI 2004-05-24 08:18 AM

I should still be in :D

I might have to slow down on events though soon! Could be getting two more kids soon

ArthurS 2004-05-24 10:24 AM

I am still in. Do we just pay the 30$ when we get there?

MattR 2004-05-24 10:49 AM

I believe so.

Heres the flyer

ArthurS 2004-05-24 10:56 AM

Correct me if I am wrong...

But it looks like it will be 30$ to pay when we get there and it does not included T-shirts. Looks like T-shirts will be a additional 10$.

Still sounds like a blast though.

qksubi 2004-05-24 07:42 PM

mike dude does that make four kids :?:
WOW

MikeSTI 2004-05-24 10:05 PM

could be 3 total new additions by the time it is all said and done 2 two year olds and 1 seven year old  :D :D :D

MattR 2004-05-26 09:04 AM

Okay guys,
I talked to the organizer today, we are good to go, all we need to do is show up and run. Looks like it wraps up with lunch and prizes at 2 Pm. Basically, we run a big lap around the lake. Sounds like there are a few other car club attending, so we may have a challenge in winning largest attendance.

Edited first post for meet location.

qksubi 2004-05-26 09:18 AM

Matt I want to go but I wont know till the day before (F%$#ing railroad)
Can I go at the last minute :?:
I restarted my computer on monday and six or seven sets of the applications started to print  Do you want them :?:

MattR 2004-05-26 09:20 AM

 That sucks, no I really don;t need them. Sorry about that..And Yes, you can decide last minute, it doesn't make any difference.

sweet

MikeSTI 2004-05-26 10:20 AM

any word as far as what the charity is resonsible for i.e. kids, old persons, YMCA, etc.. I might also have a co-driver for the event will that be extra or is it per car?

LetItRev 2004-05-26 10:45 AM

It looks like you will have to pay extra for passengers if they want lunch; $15.00.

I am still up in the air on this as I may have to work that day. :(

Are we going to have comms for this? (Radios to communicate). Do you guys have/use FRS?

Are others planning on bring co-drivers/spouses/family/hitchhikers?

Franz

Most of us have FRS or GMRS radios. Some of us have extras. (I've got like 6 radios, some of which are semi-permanently loaned out to SECCS members already.)

My sister might be up that weekend, so she'd be riding with me.

MikeSTI 2004-05-26 02:47 PM

my mom might ride with me :D

I want her to go on the Gumball Rally 3000 run with me so this will give us time to talk about it

rangersteve 2004-06-03 08:26 AM

Hope it's o.k. if I tag along on this one. I'm not officially a member of SECCS yet, but I'll pay my dues as soon as I figure out who to give my dough to. My wife and I will be there for breakfast at 7am. Where is the Bullys we are meeting at located?
Steve

dknv 2004-06-03 09:10 AM

Steve,
That would be great if you & your wife wanted to join the ride.
I think this is the Bully's#2 on Wedge Pkwy, going towards Mt. Rose - right Matt?

MattR 2004-06-03 09:12 AM

That is correct

LetItRev 2004-06-03 09:46 AM

I am indeed working this Saturday and will therefore not be able to participate. :( I am bummed. Have fun everyone.

MikeSTI 2004-06-03 10:22 AM

now it looks like my 2 kids might ride with me while the wife is in San Diego picking up the twins :?

man my life has been hard lately :(

but somehow I am still going to make this trip :D
