S-Squared BBQ - 4/3

Looks like S-Squared will be having one of their world famous BBQ's Next weekend at the shop in Sac!

Is Reno going to send a contingency? I know I'm there if I'm not still working weekends.

Dean 2004-03-24 01:23 PM

Sure, I'm in...

ArthurS 2004-03-24 01:39 PM

Sounds good so far. 8)

JoelK 2004-03-24 02:10 PM

I'm probably up for it. Curiously, any news on their dyno? I might have my AccessPort by then.

Nick Koan 2004-03-24 02:44 PM

The dyno should be up and running in a few days. It would have been up and running a few weeks ago, but everyone was too busy prepping their car for Buttonwillow.

You all should come, it'll be good fun :D

MattR 2004-03-24 03:39 PM

I'm there

MikeSTI 2004-03-24 04:03 PM

I'm trying to be there.....if I did come I want on the dyno, just to see what I'm pulling stock, for comparison later :D

Kevin M 2004-03-24 04:10 PM

The dyno may make its maiden voyage this evening. :) Nate is welding the anchors on as we speak.

Bump...Is everyone still in. I know I am...What time should we leave?

Kevin M 2004-04-01 01:16 AM

The 'Q doesn't start until 5 or 6 I believe, but the dyno will be running starting at 10. Just get there whenever you guys feel like making it. :)

MikeSTI 2004-04-01 10:12 AM

I want to go still wasnt thinking of going untill 11 or 12 if that fits with anyone? Also are there going to be any kids? before everyone starts thinkig MJ, I might bring my 5 and 3 year old but only if other kids near there age will be there?

Dean 2004-04-01 10:41 AM

I'll go down whenever, but need a ride back up the mountain.

I am dropping off my car so they can put on all my go fast goodies...

Nates kids might be there, but I'm not sure.

MikeSTI 2004-04-01 11:06 AM

cool, my wife would probly just stay home  in which case I'm sure Dean will be able to get a ride 8)

Dean 2004-04-03 08:07 AM

Fedex ground didn't deliver my swaybars yesterday... I called, and begged them to deliver this AM, but no promisses. At least they have Sat. delivery...

I'll call Matt, or Scott if I'm going to make 10:00... I'll catch up to you there otherwise. Save me a parking spot and some grub.

I still need a ride home...

Headed out to swap wheels, and put in harnesses and load up all my parts.

MattR 2004-04-03 08:39 AM

Sweet!. Okay everyone, We're meeting at Super Kmart in Northwest Reno. Plan on 10:15 or so, we should hit the road no later than 10:45. Looks like we'll have about 10 vehicles. Eric (silver STi) called in sick today, so he's going now too...See you guys at 10;15,

Matt

Sweet, feels good to be home...I had a great time today, Mike, I'm sorry that had to happen, but at least you're okay.

All-in-all...Great day. The BBQ/Dyno day was top-notch, thanks Nate, Scott and SacSubies crew, we had a great time.

We will return the favor the 17th, when you all show up here...

Just cuz we're a Subaru club doesn't mean the Evo won't be missed!

I've been replaying the accident in my head for the last few days, and all I can think about was how I wish there was some way I could have helped as it was happening. :( I'm gonna have to start learning the force... anyone know Yoda's cell phone number?

Keep yer head up Mike, things will work out.

car

Hey all, anyone who went to the s-squared bbq on saturday and saw my car. Did it seem to be "totaled?" Sorry to be asking this irrelevant type of question on the seccs forum.. so, simple yes or no would be cool with me.

thanks all.

no

Dean 2004-04-06 07:07 PM

Depends if there is engine, or frame damage. Yes = yes, no=no IMHO

I agree with Dean. Was there any damage to the frame?

MattR 2004-04-06 10:56 PM

It appears to me the "frame" was still straight, looks as if the front crumpled like it should have, but the suspension appeared to be in the right place, and A Pillars were intact. I Dont know, I've seen worse get fixed. I'm gonna say NO, I think it can be fixed.

ArthurS 2004-04-07 12:45 AM

Remember...Nevada law is that if the damages are 65% of the vehicle's worth, they will also total it. I doubt this is the case though.

sperry 2004-04-07 08:54 AM

Someone said they saw the crank pulley on the ground. If that's the case, then the motor probably spun itself to pieces. So a new motor, plus the cost of a new radiator and intercooler (and all the associated piping), and all the accessories, etc, could be pretty expensive. :(

Evo Mike 2004-04-07 09:56 AM

well thanks a-lot guys. i really hope it can get fixed because i absolutely love that car and the accident was somewhat unfortunate... but, if it can't be fixed by gb motorsports, there just might be another sti mike on the seccs forum

Evo Mike 2004-04-07 10:03 AM

yes, the crank pully on the ground is not a good thing..... the motor will be royally screwed if that's the case..
