Poll : Should Art Keep His Car?
Should I? Eh?
Seems with the new basically really cheap mods and spending the money for the 30k, some people think I should keep it. Needless to say, I am still testdriving 3 more cars (tomorrow actually), still might be a option and a cheap one at that. |
It looked pretty sick tonight, I must admit.
So, what cars are you test driving? Dodge Magnum? what else? |

Clear Bra, and keep the Wagon...
Track car... I continue to think the Miata is one of the best bargains for a track car.. You can get a fully race prepped Spec Miata for 10K or so and go bang doors, and you can get a late model one like Sue's for 15K or less, and you can spend as little as a couple K on an earlier 1.6 They are incrediably reliable, handle very well right out of the box, respond well to simple upgrades, and are just plain a hoot to drive... One of the best smile generators ever created IMHO |

I think you should hang on to the Wagon as a daily driver... it's got plenty of power, though some lag from the auto tranny... it's fairly comfortable... has decent cargo room... is partially paid for... and looks fucking awesome now that it's cleaned up and painted. Just get that bump out of the grill, get those headlights wired up properly (and if you really want to do it to it, I think I know how to fix the RHD pattern cut-off issue... it will involve taking the lights apart and cutting the metal guide in there). Finally toss on a set of 17" rims for the summer (I miss your formels man :(). That thing is awesome!
The only reason not to keep the wagon... Legacy GT... 'cause it's everything you wagon is times 2. :twisted: All the rest of the cars mentioned are too expensive compared to what you'd be getting over the nice ass wagon you already have! |

That bump in the Grill is kinda odd. Hell, its only been on there for 4 days...wonder why it happened? Might go back to the good ol' STi genuine grill.
As for the lights, driving home was fun. I didn't realize how far up and to the left they were. I was definatly blinding people on the way back. I need to get those adjusted tonight. Only issue I think I am going to have with the wiring is with the Foglights. I want the fogs to be able to be on when brights are on. |

As for Mike's post,
I am not going to go for the Magnum. I read a lot more about it last night and decided against it. The G35 is still a option, but it would kill cargo room. The TL is just sick with the 6-speed. Still going to go check that out also. |

Michael Hohl is running an add for all '05s a $1 over invoice. I dunno if it's BS but it's worth checking out. I vote for a GT wagon.

Art,
Keep the current car and take the money you would have used for the new wheels and put it towards that house you want to buy. Then when you get older, you'll have some assets. :D |
i know you could care less about what i think; however, i Just went through this, over the last month. my decision ill keep to myself.
Magnum RT; very nice interior, i forsee many little recalls over the next year. no AWD, but easy to control RWD. (side note: 300c feels MUCH better, like they didnt change the suspension for the Magnum.) Volvo S40 T-5; Best interior, Slowest of all comared however the turbo rush is there. the car is a friggin vault, no sound inside, even better imo than the BMW i drove. cheapest insurance (for me). 6 friggin airbags. softest most compliant suspension. no awd and volvo traction control makes no sense. BMW 330ci; sporty as hell in handling and suspension (still slow though), nice interior with the alcantra, not worth the money imo. Subaru Legacy GT Turbo; ghey stacked on a little more ghey with a side of ghey. no balls, noisy inside, not even close to an sti and almost the same price. sure looks nice though ;P. G35 Awd; This one is tied with the Volvo but it feels alot stronger, had to drive to sac to test it. nothing really stood out except the awd, couldnt make it loose traction. Kinda nice contrast to the old rexxer. Lancer Evo 8; hmmm lets just say not impressed. not enough car for the money, Sti has more options. the lancer makes you pay for crap the comes "stock" on the Sti. i like the interior a bit better on this car, (vs the sti) only cause it makes you feel like theres more room. Im sure that none of this means anything, also im sure you will draw your own conclusion. But for whats its worth, nothing compares to the feeling of a new car and a new warranty ;P. like that first kiss, and the butterflies that come with it. i wont say which came out on top, and i didnt write down everything i tested like sport uts and real lux cars. fyi the old rex is gone, i detuned it a bit so it doesnt blow up on the new owner. never got faster than 11.817 but maybe in a year or so the new car will be rockin 10's .... |
Holy crap! What's up Phil?,,, I'd have to agree with you on the Volvo...They really nailed it on comfort, build quality and luxury...Those cars are just plain smooth..So? What did you buy? No secrets... :lol:

If you are planning on 10s you pretty much got the Magnum or the EVO and it doesn't sound like you liked the EVO. Still got your bike?

Because we don't live on racetracks, and the STi is the better daily use car. And it's not like the STi isn't a fast track car.

I don't plan on going either route. After this weekend, I spent some more time on drit roads trying to get to the rivers, I realized the need to have a vehicle with a good clearance. I have been to swamped at work since Hawaii to go test drive, but I will still be going after some. Phil...did you think the R/T was quick? anyway, I have been ruling some out and thinking of others. I know Dean will slap me for this, but I want to go test the Allroad Audi 2.7t. |

I really do not like Volvo's. They are nice cars and all...just not my taste (unless is a S60R).
