I told you guys Robby is the man...Looks like he's flying behind the wheel of the Dakar Toureg.
He's the first American to record a stage win in the Dakar...very cool.

Yeah, Robby is doing great. Even before his win, he was up there with Colin McRae (the leader early on) until McRae got a puncture. I'm hoping for a great battle between the two in the next few weeks.

Robby Gordon just moved up a notch in my book. Up to notch 1. :lol:

Gordon is a hell of a driver, even if he is a hothead who usually doesn't think before acting. :lol: I like watching his trophy truck stuff..

He rules. He is curently the overall leader.

I can't find it on Speed Channel listings anywhere... Are they not carrying it this year?

I just looke on the Dakar site, and it looks like Speed passed. it is being covered by OLN, whic hI don't currently get... Crap...

Not only that, they aren't doing daily coverage. So, we won't get to see anything about the Dakar till around the 20th.

Well Shit...Robby has crashed out, as has Colin MCRae...I'm nt sure if Robby will get back in or not, Colin is out for sure...

Gordon said he cut his hand on the windshield, and the crew will have the truck "as good as new" for Thursday's seventh stage. Volkswagen Motorsport Director Kris Nissen says, "We will have to wait till the car is in the bivouac before we'll know whether he can continue or not."

Damn... That sucks! I miss daily coverage on Speed!

Me too! I watched like 50 hours of Dakar last year...Now= 0...Bum deal.

I miss a lot of things they used to cover on Speed. That channel has really gone downhill in the last couple of years... it's slipping to the point where it might not be a required channel of mine anymore. Maybe I don't need cable after all...

I agree. I haven't seen any ice racing either this winter. That was cool stuff. It has become the "My Classic Car", "Two Guys Garage", and "NASCAR Fast Forward" rerun channel...

It used to be about what the name of the channel said - SPEED. Air races, boat races, every kind of random ass vehicle race you could think of in the world. Now all I see are people standing around on camera fucking talking, instead of showing me some speed. :monkey:

Though, I saw something the other night that made me think "woah, its the old Speed Channel" again. It was bobsledding championships. Not something I would have watched (or did watch), but it at least made me nostalgic of the old Speedvision.

Sounds like we need to pitch our own channel to time warner or something?

They only thing you can watch right now regarding the Dakar is a reality show about 6 motorcycle riders competing for a slot on an American bike team competing in this years race..

Man, I was really sad to see Fabrizio Meoni died during this years dakar, it seemed to be an extra tough year for the motorcycle guys, lots of serious injuries, and at least 2 deaths that I've seen..Very sad. Final two nights of coverage tonight and thursday...

OLN's coverage is mediocre at best, but at least we get to see it.

So did anybody tape the last couple nights of it and can you bring them tonight? I'll scrounge up a VCR for Bully's if needed.

Honestly Dean , the coverage was pretty sub par...It was cool to see, but overall, not very entertaining...No big deal, there is a recap dvd that should be out mid February...I need to find the link to that..
